Dumb butt signs a order giving the government authority to redistribute medical supplies from areas that don't need it to places that do ( NYC). So what happens when some little town in upstate NY gets hit...tough turd little people. Guess the word 'fair' is not in their vocabulary. I would think the citizens might want to have a say in that order. Very bad move.

U know upstate New Yorkers don’t vote ‘D’ so cumo choosing who gets help. And once the upstate New Yorkers pass, they will vote ‘D’.

Come and get them. Do you wanna be the first one through the door? The citizens might have a say yet.

Was waiting for this, even on a federal level. Vents from flyover and deplorable states to our metropolitan overlords.

I'm telling you, folks here will lose older loved ones so that 3rd gen welfare sows, decrepit city council members, and illegals can get that ventilator.

Didn't you see the news conference where Cuomo said that nationally everything should go to NYC now and he would guarantee the leftovers would be sent back as soon as NYC didn't need anything any more?

My Dad who lives in upstate was talking about this with me today. I said they didn’t deserve to live in cuomo’s eyes since upstate votes mostly red. Need to save all the blue voters in NYC instead..

I'm not surprised. The Dem's have thought for a long time that only the Cities are important and no one else has a voice. Getting rid of the electoral college will do this once and for all.

Somebody needs to check the basement of the New York Governor’s mansion every so often to make sure he’s not squirreling away more stuff down there ... he’s got called on ventilators already so no telling what else he’s hiding.

Was talking about this exact thing with a coworker today. Not to mention he has the nerve to tell the nation that New Yorkers will flock to other states (like folks from across the country have flocked to NYC) and bring equipment to assist in their recovery/treatment after NYC is squared away. I'll believe it when I see it.

To be clear...he did not simply sign an order. He committed, clearly and unequivocally, to using military troops to seize equipment.

Do not run, we are your friends.

NYC has nine million people, and a desperate need for supplies. Now.

Playing “what if” games with those supplies is getting people dead.

Get the resources to where they will do the most good. What’s wrong with that? If you and your family were on a sinking ship, and Cuomo wanted to take the life preservers off the boats in the marina, would you have a problem with that?

Really? Is this hard? Ask for them. Take them by force, one is resisted by force. As soon as two decide their need is greater than 1, that one will seek two more and so it goes. That fiction of the "most good" is the il-logic and chaos/dehumanization of utilitarianism. No thank you, sir.

When they sink the ship my family is depending on, yes.

My family didn't decide to live in an over populated, crammed to the gills immigrant run, corrupt and and liberal run garbage heap. They didn't fly to a foreign, dog meat eating sh*thole and brink back a foreign illness. They've paid into a system for medical help when they needed it, not so some power hungry tyrant could demand the supplies for his current crisis with the dim false promise of giving it back when they needed it.

And if this is allowed to happen, it will happen again.

ALBANY — Gov. Andrew Cuomo said that he would use the National Guard to take ventilators and protective equipment from hospitals and other health care facilities in upstate New York where they're not in use to deploy the lifesaving equipment in the New York City area.

He plans to sign an executive order to give the state the power to take equipment from private hospitals, nursing homes, and other facilities. Cuomo objected to a reporter's question saying the state would "seize" ventilators, instead describing it as "sharing" of resources.

Taking property under force of violence is not 'sharing'...it is robbery and it is a criminal act.

Folks need to be deciding where their loyalties lie.

I was beginning to give the governor a bit of credit. This changes that.

It would be an interesting figure to see percentage wise how many ventilators are in NYC now compared to how many are in other areas of NY.

So, anyone prepared to help guard a hospital in upstate NY?

There are so many advantages to living in a big city, and there is some downside. The people have been enjoying the advantages, they should have to accept the downside.

If there is excess equipment he should ask folks to send it, but going out to claim it, heck I’d hide it or set it on fire.

Not a bad analogy, similar to one I read about fire trucks going across town to a big blaze or staying in the neighborhood in case of a house fire nearby.

But let me ask you this.............. if you and your family were on the boat in the marina that was about to set sail into the same dangerous waters and Cuomo took all the life preservers from it would you have a problem with that?

Commie! :p

But seriously, greater good vs individual and/or property rights. Who owns the ventilators? Who gets to decide which region or person is more important? There probably won’t be shots fired since Upstate NY isn’t awash in deaths right now, but this is the kind of thinking and gov’t that gets people shot.

Not sure how high up the orders are coming from (Blasio... Cuomo ... whoever) but they are getting tough up their ...

I am not sure how true but a radio station reported NYC EMT’s have been told to triage in the field and if the patient has certain conditions, no pulse cardiac arrest types especially, that would make chance of saving they’re to not transport to the hospital and call NYPD for body removal.

Saying the same about medical personnel - "we don't have enough in NYC, we need to make them come here from other places"

Is it just that, it's about the numbers? Take the resources away from rural areas (forcibly), so that people in the city can survive at the expense of the rural folk, simply because there are more of them? (reminds me of a parable about a sheep and two wolves)
If you and your family were on a sinking ship, and Cuomo wanted to take the life preservers off the boats in the marina, would you have a problem with that?
But he's not taking them off boats that are docked, he's taking them from smaller ships that are ALSO sinking. Your family is on one of those smaller ships, are YOU ok with that?

Reactions: Me.
Gun manufacturer Remington recently offered the state of New York use of their facilities to help with crucially needed medical supplies for healthcare workers on the frontlines battling the Wuhan coronavirus. The state government has yet to accept Remington's offer.

Cuomo, a strong proponent of gun control, said on March 26 the state has enough PPE for the foreseeable future, but as reports indicate, some hospitals are still experiencing critical shortages.

In a video posted on March 23, Ken D'Arcy, the CEO of Remington, said he wrote a letter to President Trump and Cuomo to say the company is willing to help with production and distribution of PPE and ventilators. The company has a plant in Ilion, totaling 1 million square feet, that is now freed up since they have been designated as a non-essential business.

Eric Suarez, communications and media manager for Remington, told Townhall on Friday that to his knowledge, the state still has not accepted Remington's offer to help.

New York's Department of Health did not respond to a request for comment in time for publication.

Cuomo tweeted again on Friday about the state's need for supplies and said, "If you can manufacture PPE I implore you to do so. NYS will pay a premium."

3pm: The Governor announced today that he will seize all excess ventilators and medical supplies, and move them downstate. Bob is furious about this. We'll take your calls on the matter, and also provide the daily COVID-19 Update from County Executive Ryan McMahon.

4pm: Congressman Tom Reed joins Bob to discuss the Governor's executive order, that will move ventilators and medical supplies downstate. We'll also field your calls and concerns, on how this could affect all of us upstate.

5pm: We're all really upset about this Executive Order Governor Cuomo issued today. Our phones were flooded with calls from you, airing out your feelings on how ridiculous this is. Bob fields your calls and reactions.

I seem to remember him saying that he would pay to retool a factory and then also pay a premium for the product. But, admittedly, I think he was talking to idle garment manufacturers.

I wonder when they'll start selecting tributes from each district?

Meanwhile, Cuomo refuses to tells anything from the Gov't stockpile of ventilators because it isn't bad enough yet.
Massive effing per grab. Beating thre non city dwellers of NY into submission.
