I know someone in Vermont. He sent a pic of a garden seed pack stand in Walmart with a note on it that said “sorry, this is non essential”

Texas says Hobby Lobby is not an essential business. Tell that to all the parents who have one, two or more kids stuck at home and no arts and crafts supplies.

Three kids tough, two kid tougher, only one child is the biggest pain in the Butt because they always want to be entertained with nothing else in the house but adults at any age is tough. Mine is 12 and is about to drive me freaking batty wanting to beat me up with her ju jitsu.

And yes!

Her OCD was kicking in today and driving me crazy on top of all that crap.

I can bring you an 8 month old red heeler that is wired. let them entertain each other..

She has a couple dogs. But at 12 being in lockdown is pretty tough. Makes it worse that she is one of those that can do anything and is obsessive, in a good way. She decided she wanted to learn how to draw so she watched YouTube. My mind doesn't work that way. That's what makes her good at ju jitsu to she can basically see stuff and replicate with little repetition. That's part of why JU JU is is good to get her head thumped a little.

Like crossword puzzles and word searches
Sure... or for me that would be lumber and magazines. I enjoy wood working plus it’s functional. And if internet is out, I can read magazines just like I read forums.

City folk. I have a thousand things that need doing on the farm. Rabbitry's to build, new chicken coops to build, goat stalls to reconfigure, greenhouses to build, driveway needs repair and it's planting time. Ah, a relaxing time in the country. But, it's satisfying.

I'm a recent transplant, but I had to say it. :D

That's great work. It's nice that she can pick up stuff so quickly. One of my autistic sons comes out of the bedroom speaking another language sometimes after learning on YouTube University.

Makes me happy that I don't have kids......

It does make life a whole lot easier.

Oddly our social circle here is made up about 75% of married people without kids which is very different than it was back in CA. There everyone in our caste was working like dogs until suddenly they were in their early 40s and then had to pop out 2 kids real quick and outsource the raising of them 100% to the lowest bidder and/or the state so they could go back to the salt mines. Not sure why that's desirable but it's what's done. Don't see the advantage to that, the tired old excuses not withstanding.

for anyone that’s bored you can make monster mud with water and corn starch.

my wife made some our 3 & 4 year old girls yesterday and they sat in their chairs for 2.5 hours content as could be. Might not work for all adults but worth a shot.

All this does is reinforce the need to prep, and not just the normal food, defense, and barter items, but the things that will keep you sane as well.
It also reinforces the fact that government is incompetent at best...dangerously deadly at worse, and we must inculcate the idea to the youth that we should never look to government to help us when we can first help ourselves. Therefore we need to teach the youth to look at government with disdain and mistrust, and seek to keep government in check.

Or teach them to never have blind faith in any governing body/gov official. A healthy dose of skepticism is a good thing.

Either way, the good thing is I’ve noticed some lib leaning people who are starting to see the light and realize that gov may not be the answer.
