Backyard Fun With The 10/22

At least in my experience.....

Have fun!

Rem rimfire is like asking for a headache. I feel bad giving the stuff away.

That said, thunderbolts work in my 10/22 no problem. Golden bullets work 90% in my 10/22. Neither work worth a damn in my other .22’s so it’s worthless to me. Fed & CCI for me.

My son and his girlfriend blew through both boxes of that .22 ammo. Never had an issue with the Federal or the Remington.

The rifle never skipped a beat. Not sure if the ammo was 36 grain or 40. One box was HP and one was FMJ. Both boxes are now in a dumpster so I can't post the weights.

Edit: The box of Federal was round nose. I'm not sure about the Remington because I never looked at it closely.

Doesn't matter though. They shot all of it without a single malfunction.

The Federal Auto Match is 40 grain. The Remington Golden Bullet is 36 grain. My CZ actually shoots the Fed Auto Match pretty well. It'll ring a 20x30 steel plate consistently at 500 yards using them (91 MOA dial-up over a 25 MOA base). That extra 150 feet per second muzzle velocity really extends their effective range.

A couple of other really good standard velocity rounds that you can get in bulk for a reasonable price are Geco (semi auto optimized) and CMP Standard by Eley.
