No campfires because virus

Throwing people together in close proximity to fight the fire is probably the real concern.

Read it. It's focused on respiratory problems.

Meanwhile my neighborhood was engulfed in smoke last night. I didn't care.

I had one going last night. The ban is effective starting today. I'll have one tonight, too.

Oh, on their FB page, they said if you were using the fire to cook food that was for immediate consumption, that was allowed.

With the amount of boxes we have been hammered with since Christmas, I finally had to have a box burnin earlier in the week. Pain in the butt, but meh...I was smart enough to realize if I felt congested or issues with breathing it was because I had inhaled buring cardboard and ink for an hour.

it's simple: Like the CDC NOW RECOMMENDS, everyone around the fire wear a N95 respirator and the smoke won't bother you.

Damn dude, South Carolina starting to make NY and California look like right wing extremists lately. Fail after fail...after fail.

Well, mine just got put out by a Godly wet force...nothing some accelerant and a light can’t fix! I sure do hope it’s burned out by 6am tomorrow...sure don’t want McMaster***** (the name Billy calls him in the basement) to send his law dogs after me!

I used to run a summer camp for the FFA in cherry grove. It's been there since the 50s, and you can imagine the fires that these high school kids keep going 24/7 during the middle of July. (Needless to say there wasn't much brush on the ground on that 40 acres). When the city of North myrtle tried to tell us that outdoor burning wasn't allowed, a wise old time forest service guy told me "there isn't a law in the land to keep you from building a cooking fire." So we built a small box on a post with a glass door that never failed to have a bag of marshmallows inside. End of problem.

You would think:
Not only can smoke exacerbate the symptoms of those who have contracted the virus, but it also can trigger underlying respiratory issues in otherwise unaffected individuals, which could result insymptoms similar to those the COVID-19 virus is known to cause.“For infected individuals, breathing smokecould make coronavirus symptoms worse, increasing the risk of hospitalization or death,” said Dr. Brannon Traxler, DHEC Physician Consultant. “It could also causepeople who have not contracted the coronavirus, but who are presenting COVID-19-likesymptoms, to seek medical careat a time when medical resources are already stretched thin."
Campfires?

Just more government flexing its muscles.
