John Prine just died of Corona...

My son saw him live last year. God rest his soul.

I was just reading that and came here to post it. RIP, John.

I'm a walkin' down the street
Like Lucky LaRue
Got my hand in my pocket
Thinkin' 'bout you
I ain't hurtin' nobody
I ain't hurtin' no one

Prine, who left behind an extraordinary body of folk-country classics, was hospitalized last month after the sudden onset of COVID-19 symptoms, and was placed in intensive care for 13 days. Prine’s wife and manager, Fiona, announced on March 17th that she had tested positive for the virus after they had returned from a European tour.
So he likely contracted it in Europe? How will the media spin this into being Trump’s fault?

RIP John. Thanks for decades of music that will still resonate with our heartstrings.

Damn.....RIP

My son and I were sitting here in my office having a little wake for Mr. Prine, and he told me that Prine still had a whole tour in front of him.

RIP Mr. Prine, you were and are a national treasure. Also, I don't think you would forgive us if we didn't offer the following tribute.

Was gonna post this. He left instructions.

Saw him at UGA about 17 or so years ago. Stuck around and met him after. Drinking a red stripe and signing autographs.

So I’ll post the Happy Enchilada song.

Oh man. They showed a clip of him recently before the chinese bat eater flu and he looked terrible. Shocking. Actually I did not know he was still alive. A lot of folks knew his songs but didnt know he wrote them.

Mr. Prine will always be in my mind for his part in the movie 'Daddy and them', played Billy Bob Thornton's brother and did a heck of a job. Great movie and a great poet.

Probably from the cancer treatment. I don't think he actually gained weight, just a lot of swelling especially on his face. Last I saw him was Austin City Limits when he brought Tyler Childers on for a few songs. Prine was doing some of his new stuff.

Daddy want you take me back to Muhlenberg County
Down by the Green River where Paradise lay.

I fished all those Paradise strip pits from the late 70's to the late 90's. Run trotlines on the Green River down below the Rochester Dam those years too.
I'm going home one of these days boys it may be in a box but thats where I want my ashes slung.
Damn I loved his music & saw him in concert many times.

Saw him last fall. Told the wife we’d better see him because he was getting up there in age. Damn. This hit me pretty hard.

My youngest decided to try the guitar. She’s been practicing a bit. What better place to start than one of the greats. I decided to dust mine off. Boy do I need some practice. Gonna have to make some more time.

Thanks for the memories John, old and new.
