I don't mean to make fun of people for buying in a panic - we've probably all done it at least once. And I don't want to shame people for selling stuff they don't need/want at a time when they can get a premium...
but COME ON

Complete used ANDERSON MIL SPEC AR-15 lower nothing fancy just a base lower complete. I do not need it its been collecting dust. $175.00 or trade for ammo or what ever you have I might want or need .

$100 would be too much for that a couple weeks ago! But it posted yesterday for $175 and was sold before 10am this morning?
What's going on out there?
What other crazy prices have you seen cheap things selling for?

It ain’t high if someone wants it......just wait, it will get worse.

But yes I believe that is way to much for it...

I wouldn’t say that’s way too much. Is it higher than I’d pay? Yes.

Somebody here was looking for a cheap AR a couple weeks ago. The cheapest complete lowers at PSA we’re in the $150-$190 range.

If it was just a stripped lower...way too much. But not completely unreasonable for a complete lower.

I think its a bit high, but not terribly...as far as scary stuff ive seen stuff being listed for, a lower you don't have to pay shipping or transfer on that's already built isn't too bad.

Nope, you must have missed post sandy hook.
Stripped lowers over that amount, if you could find one.

Yep, post SH I remember Aero went in to overdrive and built a ton, posted on their facebook that their prices would remain the same IIRC 100/per. Would be on the site the next morning. Site came up, lowers with normal pricing, apparently site got over loaded, and went down. THEN, they got the site back up and raised their prices to either $150 or $200/per. They still sold out but never gave the reason for the reneg on the prices. I on the other hand have refused to do business with them since that stunt, which is unfortunate as they do have nice products..

That was an insane time.

I'm considering Armslisting (tm) a new Anderson pistol lower for 3 bills.

But, BUT, it has an Aero lpk and buffer, kaw valley (I think that's right) buffer spring, SBA3 brace, and CMC 3.5# flat faced trigger.

Best you not look at the cost of 9mm ammo then.

Yeah, I've seen 9mm by-the-box price shoot up a lot, but I still see ads from vendors selling it for ~190/1000. It's not the $160 it was a couple years back, but that's still not 2016 or SH prices...

And yeah, I remember the price jumps right before Obama (750 ARs selling for 1100+). As for SH, late 2012... I was in michigan at the time. In MI, any gun that could be fired in a configuration less than 30" had to be registered as a pistol. Any 18" folding stock mossberg 500 or any AK with a folding stock fit that definition - which means you could load it, put it in your passenger seat, and drive through downtown detroit.
The law set that to change on jan 1 2013, to more closely match the 26" rule set by the feds.
talk about a HUGE increase in price... high demand for a folder under 26 and high demand due to SH. I missed out on buying a few things i wanted to get before the deadline.
But I did manage to get an AR, a mossberg 500, a beretta cx4, and a walther g22 listed as pistols in time :)

it's a complete lower, so depending on what the LPK is, buffer setup, etc sure I can see $175. Buy a complete one off PSA then tax and transfer and see what you spend.

Post Sandy Hook we had a LGS selling beat to hell USGI mags for $85 each and getting it!

I’ve seen plenty of crazy prices posted but I don’t think many of those are actually selling.

I saw 6920’s for $2500 but most <$1500.
I sold my NIB 6920 for $1300 on Armslist
.223 ammo selling for $.45-.55/rd

Not even gonna mention CTD’s craziness.

my tabletop has sold every handgun in and around the $500 mark, alot of shotguns, etc.

Maybe I should have a huge safe clearing sale so I can hang with the Dan Wesson and CZ Shadow crowd.

This has dawned on me as well...I have a few pistols I don't shoot or carry, but keep "just in case" (and I normally regret selling), but I could sell an old Shield for $600 apparently, and a case of .223 for $500, that gets me a shadow!

He’s probably left himself a bit of negotiating room. I’ll bet he’d take $575. :D

I have some IMI ammo that was blowing primers in my ar's. Anyone want it for 50 cents a round? I want a shadow2 also.

Around the time of the obama scare i saw a guy at the dixie gun show trade 10 glock mags for a new in box glock 17. He was walking around with a bag of hi caps trading them to anyone willing to give him 50$ per. Seemed to work for him at least once.

Armslist. Yes you gotta deal with what comes with Armslist but you can get top dollar.

Yep. I almost had a pistol lower sold, for my asking price, to a NC dude, but he wouldn't agree to meet at an FFL.

He didn't want a paper trail. I understood, but he didn't even have a CCP, or whatever you guys up the call it.

I traded enough bulk .22 ammo to a pawnshop/LGS at 12cpr (iirc) to get my Dad a G23 for his birthday.

Proof it can be done! I'm telling ya i was amazed to see that guy not only walking around with a big bag of mags asking 50 each, but doing so confidently. I've never forgotten it.

The problem is you sell the Shield and the Shadow 2 has also increased during this price increase period.

True...but most of "us" as in, members here, are smart enough to wait it out.

I haven’t been close to a gun in a gun store since the Chinese Flu. I went and was let in to a table to ask about a returned gun. Have actual gun prices increased or just those in ads on individual gun sites. Ammo is all I’m familiar with. I know the NICS system and gun store closings here (on their own decision) has created some situations.

Yeah, I don't know either. Havent been to one myself. Most I heard from store owners was that it wasn't prices that was going up, it was stock that was being sold out.

I talked to my FFL buddy over in Katy last night. He only does transfers. When he got started about a year ago, he thought he might do 2 or 3 a week. He's been busier than that, doing 6 to 10 a week. Last week he did 116, the week before he did 104, the week before that he did 66. He says that if I see an Asian, don't start any trouble. He thinks that's he's armed every Asian in Texas. Seriously, he said that most of his customers had been Asians and many of them were first time gun buyers.

He talked to his sales person at Davidson's and he was told that every sub $800 handgun was out of stock. Even SCCY's are on allocation now. Crazy times.

We remember the Koreans in Cali...those fellas don't mess around when it comes to protecting property.

Typically high end specialty guns like that don't jump in price as much during panics. Most of the first time buyer crowd is looking for "a gun" not "the gun". I bet common striker fired plastic fantastics are going to be harder to find than a competition gun.

Is the gun market that good? I have a very few guns i never shoot. Is it time to fund my 9mm PCC build post Rona apocalypse with selling some things now?

I'm not sure if this is an accurate gage, but I put together an Anderson pistol lower with on sale/discounted brand name parts recently.

I sold it today for $280. I had it sold for my original $300 asking price, but the NC resident wouldn't agree to transfer it.
