Reopen NC

I posted in another thread (or, hell, maybe it was here) that I know of one business already that has announced they are done. At least in their current way. Shame.
I know of another coffee place (the owner is a big gun guy, some ofyall probably met him) that pretty much said if it goes much longer he'll have to hang it up.

It sucks.

REOPEN

He should have a grand re-opening. Let people decide whether they will go get coffee. Trump, Fauci and Cooper don’t really have the power to stop it. If enough people want his coffee, then so be it. Better for him to go down swinging that just die without trying.

Start with the Churches. Finish with the town squares. Hardware stores in between. Keep the Constitution on your side, and by you side. Pocket copies should be in short supply soon.

Every badge wearing person and elected politician had to take an oath to protect and defend the Constitution. It appears some need reminding.

As mentioned a few times many people aren’t using them correctly and messing with them a lot, pulling them down and so forth.

I'm starting to see folks driving around in their cars with masks hanging from their rear-view mirrors. Are they putting them on when they get out of the car, and taking them off and hanging them on the mirror when they get back? Using the same possibly contaminated mask over and over, yeah, that does a lot of good.

Well, people were protesting downtown Raleigh today for the #reopenRaleigh.
Cops showed up in riot gear and “dispersed” the crowd.
Then informed the public via Twitter that protesting is “a non essential activity”.

Wonder how it would have went down if they all had AR15’s ?

They should have toppled and defaced some statues. They would have left them alone.

Yes Lowes does have those silly plexy barriers but the cashier I had to interact with was wearing gloves. I watched her handle the previous 3 people in line and she never removed her gloves. If they were serious about combating the spread of the "plague", she's change after each transaction rather than spread contagion to from customer to customer. No telling how many cards and cash she'd handled with those same gloves on.

I thought the exact same thing yesterday when I was in Lowes. And if you use a credit card, you have to press the buttons to enter your pin number. That filthy money you receive in change, and those filthy buttons on the credit card machine can do more to spread the virus than just about anything else in the store...

...and speaking of money, (in my best Andy Rooney voice) D'ja ever notice how cashiers will use a special marker on money you give them to check to make sure they're not counterfeit? How come they never check the bills they give you back in change?

#reopennc

The governor's executive order is a violation of both the uS and the NC constitutions. Period. (And while I consider the NC Constitution to be a gross infringement of rights since 1868, I will staunchly defend those portions of it that do not violate the uS Constitution.)

From Star Trek: The Ultimate Computer

Daystrom: Why were the Captain and Chief Medical Officer not included in the recommendation (for the landing party)?
M-5 Computer: non-essential personnel.

The logic of scientific rationalism - non-essential personnel.

I routinely ask them to check the bills other than 1’s when they give them back to me. More than once I’ve had cashiers tell me they have already checked them. My answer every time was if they don’t trust me that I don’t trust them. I only do this if they check the money I give them.

I really thought this was a joke when a friend sent this to me earlier today.
But no. This was their official response.
WTF.

Man that boot seems to be getting heavier.

Exactly what I was thinking... Coming soon soon if they keep it up...
I would definitely attend that. Consequences be damned at this point...
Don't think my happy ass wouldn't make that drive with a quickness
Virginia and bundy showed em how to protest the right way, they didn't listen

Wouldn't be the first time we, as a forum, organized in Raleigh (Though I don't remember if it was still CSF or CSC back then) when the GOP was playing loose with several gun Rights bills.

We could easily do it again. When and where? Exercise the First and Second to prevent the infringement upon all the rest sounds like exactly what needs to happen.

"And what country can preserve its liberties, if its rulers are not warned from time to time, that this people preserve the spirit of resistance?"

You have to wear your helmet. I wanna see pics.

You come on out too, and take the pictures yourself.

I might do that. But I am ‘essential’. Which is very funny. Maybe I can use my cool guy pass to sneak around. :p

I, too, am Essential. But starting tomorrow, that will become working remotely unless it’s my duty week, which is 4 weeks from now.

So......I’m game. April 19th would have a certain bit of poetic justice to it, being the anniversary of Lexington and Concord.

Everyone American that works regardless of what they do are Essential. Wait until all our taxes skyrocket to pay the lost of Revenue for the state with people not working.

No disagreement here. I think any job that puts a roof over a head, or clothes and shoes someone, or keeps bellies full is pretty damned essential.

It chaps my ass that these political f%&#sticks have the gall to decree what who may work and who is forbidden, yet they stay clamped onto the public teat.

Raleigh PD Facebook page, people are pissed. Too bad they didn't do more than bitch and moan on FB
Serious question: what should 'they' have done?

I wonder how many of the 25 million people who have been put out of work are some kind of government employees???

BTW I knew you considered everyone essential. You have always seen things as they are.

my daughter just got a job at home depot burlington. She says they put her on the count for number of people allowed in at one time and people were just walking past the line and going in all doors, garden, entrance, exit. The store managers got mad but ended up just letting them all shop and tried to monitor doors. she also said there was an older fella open carrying who walked right in the exit and nobody gave him any trouble.

Storm the governors mansion for starters. Then crowd the police station next.
But leave witnesses outside with cameras to record the bodies flying out of windows.
If only there was some grassroots organization that would step up and file suit against the governor's unconstitutional executive orders -- maybe we could avoid going from outrage to open armed rebelliuon with no intermediate steps.

One, the courts would likely say they're shut down and might take up the case sometime next year. Two, historically the courts have given great latitude towards the subject of quarantines and other measures they see as being in the interests of safety for the public at large.

Unfortunately, with the way the US has totally botched the testing and isolating process, mass isolation is about the only tool they have to throw at it.
