Anybody do these? I see them all the time on my Instagram feed and decided to enter for the first time yesterday. It was for a Trijicon RMR type 2, 25 bucks a spot, 25 spot limit. I purchased one spot and ended up winning it.

nicely done!
Ive seen them on there before and on websites etc, but never enter

I have won a bunch of them. Mostly hunting stuff. Have also lost plenty of them. At least I am in the green!

The gun store I used to work at keeps doing them. The ticket price seems to keep rising and the current one is $20 a pop for a choice of a couple of cheap guns. Guess they got greedy.

Retail on that is something short of $500, wholesale is what maybe $400, they sell it for $625 through a raffle, no wonder they do it.

Every business has to make a profit. I dont dislike that they make a hundred bucks per raffle. In the grand scheme, that's not that much money.

But from the flipside, our dong loving brother above was able to get a 500$ rmr for only 25, which is incredible

As long as people keep buying the tickets then right on, that's capitalism.

How is it panicky?

How is it dumb?

So is @Derek8404 in a panic or dumb because he dropped 25 bucks on a raffle ticket for the sight?

Paying 10 percent of tbe purchase price for a small percentage chance of winning something seems dumb to me.

Its just having fun...people bet, play the lottery, go to Vegas. I don't think the vast majority of people are really seriously expecting to win, or even looking at it as a viable way to purchase items at a discount. I think I paid $10-20 to enter a drawing once for a benefit, ended up winning a Ruger SR1911...I had forgotten I had even bought the ticket in the first place.

Places used to do a 50/50 drawing as a fundraiser, you buy a ticket for $1, if you win, you get half the total. Worked out great for all involved...get 100 people to buy 2 tickets, the winner walks away with $100 bucks, the organization gets $100, and most people are fine with dropping $2 just for a chance at a payout.

Something seeming dumb to you doesnt make it dumb and it sure as hell doesnt make it 'panicky'

Hey, if someone drops 10% on a raffle and wins, I would say that's pretty solid.
Hell, they do three or four raffles they still aint even in half the cost of new
But, yeah, it's 'dumb' and panicky lol

I was into toy collecting for a while and got involved with a raffle page on FB. I found it after I bought a $35 mystery box and won a $1000 funko pop which I wanted to sell for obvious reasons. Ended up becoming a moderator which allowed me to run the raffles. I made over $2k in a month and likely made over $5k whole I was there and I was only there for 4 months total. That’s not including what I didn’t on other raffles and what I won and then raffled off.

Definitely to each their own... but like you I just don’t get it. I follow that FB company and haven’t seen much I’d be willing to gamble on. Gotta make money somehow though

There's a guy here in town...millionaire..rents out a bunch of property..and he entered the lotto and won 30K.
o_O
At least @Derek8404 is a dirtbag like the rest of us. I'm happy for him.

Me..eh. I'm not much of a contest enter-er. I'm a bird in the hand guy. I don't mind others who like that stuff and I'm happy when my friends win since all my friends are like me, ain't got no damn money to begin with lol.
I did win a cool gun-themed RTIC mug and a bag of Black Rifle coffee from CFF! All it cost me was my soul and complete obedience to the overlords here at the best forum ever invented in history.

don't do the raffle thing, but enter a crap ton of online giveaway things, mostly from FB and others. Have won 2 ARs, backpack, 2nd amendment book, and a pistol. So, not too bad other than the gazillion emails you get for entering, but hey that's what multiple emails are for............

So far I am 2 for 3 right now. I entered 2 bids at 20 a spot for a SureFire scout light last week and lost.
