Ran The Test (10 at 10 yards in 10 seconds on a B8, 90 points to pass) today after finding a load that shoots “through” the fiber optic on my front sight (124 gr S&B 9mm). Haven’t shot the 1911 seriously in a while. 98-5X in a little under 9 seconds on the timer.

Mile, Millie, target1.jpg Today I took a new friend to the range. He did awesome! I did a little better than my usual.
We shot the CZ, RIA 9mm and Springfield .45 acp.
The really tight groups are his.mike millie targets2.jpg
We did the indoor range version of the Wiz:

My 2 best of the day from around 7 yards. Before and after these, it was bad! Well, I did hit with a rifle, where I aimed.

25 yards with my Ruger 10/22 with 16.5” Tactical Advantage Barrel, Magpul Hunter Stock, T&J Tactical Suppressor, Kidd 1 Stage Trigger Kidd Internals with Burris PEPR Cantilever Mount and Athlon Optics, Talos BTR, Riflescope, 4-14 x 44 First Focal Plane (FFP) 30mm Tube, Illuminated APLR2 MIL Reticle

I’ll try at 50 yards soon but it’s pretty dark

The larger groups are 10 shots.

The small group is 5 shots

Each time I shoot this gun I like it more! Good feeling in the hand, and I noticed today I'm not having to adjust my grip like I used to do with my 2 Glocks. No more wiggling left hand fingers after each shot! I think this is some kind of progress, correct?
For a tiny gun, it shoots really well for me! Love it!

I post them all....good and bad. Today was bad!
45DrillTarget.jpg This was a drill, no timer and shooting fairly fast^^^Not brilliant.

Reduced size silhouette at 20 yds standing. SW 1006 10mm, first shot high was double action, then the next four in the engine room. First time shooting a handgun since February due to surgery at the end of February. Doc said don't shoot unsupported but I did anyway and man I could feel it by the time 2 hours was done! The hits high and to the right were from my 1911s. Ever since I had rotator cuff surgery in 2018 my shots have gone that way. I need to drift the rear sights.

Ran the Springer Ronin 9mm against my Springer RO .45acp.
both slow fire
both targets represent a magazine at 15, then 20, then 25 yards. Not exactly scientific.
Think I’ll drift that Ronin rear sight just a smidge to the right.

It's not the sight, it's YOU! lol.
How many times I've heard that, and now I get to say it (whether it is you or not!)

I installed both rear sights. When I first install rear sights I center them in the slide cuts.
Then after a trip to the range I "season to taste". Which usually involves nudging them just a hair to the right for me. Might be me, but if it will put groups where I want them consistently, I no care. With six eye surgeries in as many years I’m just happy I can see both the target and the front sight.

LoL. I agree!
I just had to say it, because it's been said to me endless times.....sorry, dude, you got to take the hit!

Mom's birthday. Here they are:

Edit: Before anyone says something, I know those rounds in the green box are shorts, I didn't try to shoot them!

Since Millie asked way back when I figured I'd share my adventures from today. After 22 years I'm going to try to get back into a little PPC. The only place that is shooting the 1500 revolver match that I have been able to find is the South Carolina Police Combat League. They started back up today and I wasn't able to make it but will be working on making the June 6 match.

As I said, I haven't pulled this pistol out in over 20 year so I wasn't expecting much, especially with that many more years on bad eyes shooting irons. After checking and adjusting the sights for 50 yds. I shot a 25 rounds off the bag just to make sure it was pretty much on. I'm no where ready to shoot sitting and left and right barricade quite yet but now I know the pistol won't be the excuse.

Tried the closer ranges just for fun. 12 rounds, 15 sec., 7 yds.

Same target but added 12 rounds, 15 sec., 15 yds.

Now to clean a dirty pistol after 100 rnds. of 25 year old cheap ammo.

9 rounds of .38 super from a Colt 1911 Series 80 at 15 yards, standing two handed hold. The rounds are my reloads from about 2015, still shoots pretty well.

Pistol is one of many that I own that is more accurate than myself. It's a keeper.

.
I couldn't agree more. I have one also and am impressed by how it handles for being so small. Hope you can find a level spot on your downhill slide😁

This was at the end of my first range session the the LC9, after 150 rounds or so, still at 10 yards. It was probably the best I've ever shot the pistol.

I guess it's kinda like playing golf, most of us hack around most of the round and then you hit that one shot just perfect. So you know you can do it which is why you keep playing week after week.

My LC9S is my summertime carry pistol. Fits nice in my pocket in a remora sticky holster. Looks like you got some nice iron there. What sort of HD is that.
