I was thinking since I am sitting at home getting fatter most of the time, i could up my dry fire game. I watched some videos and was thinking the Mantis X elite model would be a swell idea.

https://mantisx.com/pages/compare-mantisx-models

I watched a YouTube video of a guy who bought the original and said he loved it, put the new one on was getting scores like 12 and 30, 40. I was thinking well, here is a guy who says he loves his old one and uses it, but cant shoot for sh#t. The supposedly positive video had the opposite effect on me. I watched several others and people said they actually improved. The goal is to get 100 score. It seems like a pretty sweet system for both dry fire and live fire and will work for long guns too. Anyone have an opinion?

Looks like an interesting tool.

I've been looking to possibly get something but had been looking at stuff that has a laser/target system.

I like this. If you get please give us a review.

I have the original from a couple of years back. It was $159.

The app is always getting updated. I used it to bring my shooting skills with my non-dominant hand up to speed. There are a ton of different options for training and with your score, there are suggested lessons to improve your errors.

It works with anything that has a rail.

It works for dry fire or live fire.

I have the original.

I haven’t used mine for a couple of years. This reminds me to charge it and put it back into use:

It also works for live fire:

The latest version is supposed to analyze your draw and split times. It is $250.

A buddy of mine (gadget geek) has one and hath pronounced it "Cool."

So cool, he got me one! It's here, but it's goin' on a gun w/o a rail, so I'm waiting on the mag baseplate adapter for it - which is apparently coming from Louisiana, so it may be a while given the state of affairs down there of late.

When he first told me what it was & what it did, I immediately christened it:

The Digital Wigglerometer.

Can't think of it any other way, now! :D In any case, I'm looking forward to trying it out.

One of those screen shots says "sign out". Do you have to make some sort of stupid account and login to something for it to work? That would be unfortunate.

Yup.

I got my mag adapter and am charging the device. Already downloaded the app. I will suspend my paranoia (as best I can) and fart around with it anyhow.

Ill tell you in a few days when it gets here, but since it is an app on your phone i would say you need to make an account 100%. This does not scare me in the least however. I DO KNOW that one of the things you can do is compete with other people. So i actually bought a Mantix X elite for a buddy when i ordered mine, so we can compete against each other. I see windini got his already. That is sweet. I should have mine this week.

My first try with it:

Mantis 1.jpg

The next few averages were worse! Even though I was getting "Great shot" and "Good shot" with trigger pull...

Turns out my mags wobble a good bit and it was registering trigger reset as a shot break occasionally. Will adjust settings & mess around some more, but overall, I think it'll help.

You can adjust sensitivity on it, too,

My first 10 shots were a 93.6 I did about 30 or 40. I hit the trigger dry firing to fast once and got a 28. It would have been an AD had there been a bullet. Have to slow down my dangerous dry fire practice.
From what i can tell you have a very very consistent trigger pull which is good! I need to run through all the dry fire drills.
