Netflix-Extraction

Yeah, but you would think that they could make the fight scenes a little more realistic? Chuck Norris wouldn't have survived half of those scenes! Whatever, it's a typical commando type movie.

You are correct, it is not a movie about GI-Average-Joe

I have to say, the stunts and whatnot were very good.
The one fight scene in City with people getting smashed by trucks and falling off buildings and whatnot had some really long unbroken camera shots that were pretty incredible.

11:30 long, really good scene!

You musta just woke up...2 whatnots in two sentences:D:D:D:D:D

HAHA. Yeah, I actually reread before posting and thought to myself "Is it possible to work a third whatnot in here?".

But had coffee in one hand, had indeed just woke up, so just decided too lazy to edit and too lazy to work third one in and whatnot.

Edit: worked two "too lazy" into this one.

Oh yeah? But Chuck Norris built the hospital he was born in. Chuck Norris doesn't flush the toilet, he just scares the shit out of it. Chuck Norris's blood type is AK47...

:::yawn:::

For those of us who've not seen the trailer nor have open availability to watch "daddy movies" at will in the house:

Ive seen many 'daddy' movies and they did NOT end like this one ended, usually more girls involved too

I watched it, and I understand that the drug boss in prison had to make the decision he made so that the hero could be the hero for his own heroic reasons, but the decision itself made no sense whatsoever.

That would be a depressing movie. Stationed at Bragg, marries the first stripper that shows any interest in him, 2 kids that have oddly darker skin than he does, divorce, alcoholism, moves back to Kansas.
You left out STDs

The main character bears a good resemblance to the guy who played Thor.

lol. Just googled it. It is him. Wasn’t expecting him in a Netflix movie. Figured it was a look alike.

Solid post!

I have seen the ads on netflix where it was out. It is on my to watch list. I am in the middle of watching Homeland on Hulu right now. That one is interesting too. Extraction is on deck.

Homeland is worth it from start to finish. As someone said - and I agree - too much in each episode to “binge watch” so you’d be in it for the long haul.

Read a review before I watch it and they pointed out some technical mistakes such as the one mile sniper shots with a CQB scope, etc. which kinda ruined it for me... and now I pass that along to you.

I guess you never watched Macgyver,Air wolf, James Bond, Jason Borne, my little pony, transformers or Gi joe.

He was producer of the movie too
Yeah, you almost expect this sort of 'streaming service only' movie to be his younger brother or something lol

Be ready to be disappointed because someone takes a mile long shot with a cqb optic... lol

Nah, Carl, it's a fun watch, let us know what you think

I guess they would not let them buy a Nightforce like Kris Kyle used, not on a Hollywood budget.

I am about 30 minutes into it, maybe a bit more. So far I like it. The weapons handling is realistic, and he was using a BCM (just point of trivia) and using proper technique.

I watched it, and enjoyed it. Pretty mindless entertainment. Like most things, if you overthink it you will be disappointed. I thought the fight scenes were entertaining, the gun work pretty believable, and the storyline easy to follow. Some of the camera work/long shots were pretty impressive. Again, as mentioned a few times above, if you go into it looking for realism, then you will be disappointed. Most people cant handle 1/10th of the physical punishment the characters go through.

I watched it and thought it was great entertainment for an hour and a half or so. Nice escape. I don't criticize the old Star Wars movies for not being "real".

I finished it tonight. I really really liked it. Unrealistic? Absolutely. For so many reasons. But absolute fun, the stunts were as good as any I've ever seen, the cinematography was outstanding, the fight scenes were well choreographed, the gun play was great, the tactics and techniques and procedures were excellent.

I like the John Wick franchise better, it has a whole noir thing going on, but I can say I like this movie just as much in almost every way.

The "One Shot" is apparently a big deal in film making. I would not know; alls I know, it's very cool. Here's some background on the one shot for which Extraction has become infamous.

Watch 1917, that's how they filmed the entire movie. There's a couple spots where you can tell they broke but it's an amazing watch.
