Anybody own one or know of a leather worker that makes/would make a holster from the upper of a cowboy boot? Saw one a couple years back and have a pair of sentimental boots that can’t be resoled again, so hoping to let them hold a pistol instead of feet.

I saw this on Etsy.com: Boot Hill Leather Co. No affiliation or idea if they are still in business.

could have been their work I saw in the past, is exactly what I was hoping to describe in the post. Any of our resident leather guys do this or willing to give it a whirl? like to shop “local” when possible

Gonna pass on this one for a couple reasons. Thats a bit of a different process than what I normally do. And not sure how he deals with a few issues that come to mind with doing that. Very cool holsters though.

Thanks for the reply, I’d be curious how he keeps the stitching from coming undone after slicing up to size for starters, amongst other things

It’s lined with veg tan leather. Inside of front panel. Outside of back panel. The glue probably keeps it in place.

But I don’t really do patterned holsters like that. My process is pretty different. And I’d be worried about screwing it up before I got the patten right.
