It is an older series. It is on Prime now.
Finally got around to watching it.
The writers are a former Baltimore LEO and a Baltimore jawhornalist.
From various news items, Bodymore is worse now than it was when this show aired. Maryland is certainly still at least a corrupt.
The show does seem to accurately portray public corruption as a political rather than legal issue. In that politics decides what corruption to prosecute. Cuomo, Clinton, and Obama made that quite clear.

The show is not for those who don't like explicit language.
You can bet the youngest characters had a blast getting permission from their parents to say those words.
Like anything Hollywood does there are the usual clichés and mandatory references to global warming.
It still manages to come off as a binge worthy series.

This was a great show. I streamed it a couple years ago. If you happened to like the old series Homicide: Life on the Streets (and that was quite a few years ago now), it’s from the same writer, David Simon. Great characters and great stories.

THought it was possibly the greatest cop show Ive ever seen. Tried to go back and watch it a 2nd time and didnt even get thru the 1st episode.

I've been told "The Wire" is one of the most accurate "fiction" shows about Baltimore ...and pretty much any other large urban corrupt city..

...and actually the true inter workings of Baltimore are much worse than portrayed on The Wire.

Watched it years ago, I’ll just keep the good feeling and binge something new.

This was one of my favorites back in the day, watched every episode.
Avon barksdale, stringer bell. Omar great cast of bad guys.
