So I had my first Saturday off in a while and figured I'd go scout out the range up at @VOD Tactical and I have to say I was impressed!

Frank is very nice people and a meager $40 got me 4 hours of unlimited access to every range they had to offer.

It's a really nice facility, they've got a great place to develop any sort of shooting skills you can imagine.

I was primarily there to look around and see what the place was all about, and to try out a couple of new pieces of gear at the same time, namely my new Sig Sauer Kilo 3000BDX rangefinder binoculars and my Kestrel 5700 Elite ballistic weather meter.

So I took my .308 AR as well as my 6.5 Grendel and spent quite a bit of time in excess of 4 hours shooting between 50 and 700 yards at steel and verifying that my new gear works with crazy accuracy.

When I finished taking my cool new gadgets around the block, I polished off the day by running a box of Defender Ammunition 175gr .308 subsonic rounds through my suppressor. Freaky quiet, just crazy quiet shooting. And exactly 10 MOA of elevation difference between supersonic and the subsonic ammo @ 100 yards, no windage shift whatsoever.

A great day, I'd encourage anyone who hasn't had a chance to go to get out and go see the range and meet Frank, I think you'll be impressed with both!

I wish I had know you were going, I’d have tagged along. I’m a member there. Frank is awesome and the facility is terrific.

I'll gladly shoot you a PM next time, I'm probably going to join up myself.
Ive shot there and Frank does indeed have a nice setup.
@Gray shoots up there a lot, too.
Im probably going to join after I get back to NC and put my Grendel together. Only place within a reasonable distance I can stretch the legs on it

Frank poured the footers for the second pistol shed as well as two cabins by the pond last week.

I’m up for a trip anytime you fellas want to go.

Ya'll be sure and mention the forum whenever you're there, Frank is under the impression his efforts here have been for nought. He's a great guy though, we talked for quite a while.

Yes, I keep telling him the forum is a good place to be a part of. Geographically, most folks aren’t local to him. I want to get another cff range day together and hopefully get a good turnout. I’d like it to have a small fee to pay. Both to benefit the range and to have more attendees. It’s crazy how low turnout to free events will be sometimes but it if cost a few bucks it will be packed.

We had 33 people show up there last night for a 1 stage pistol match. 50 rounds in a single stage!

I didn’t know about that until it was too late!
