It's crazy that this crap is going on, thankfully many miles down the road from us, and people still act shocked. Reading some of the comments, you would think some people just found out Myrtle is dangerous. Been that way for years. I wouldn't go anywhere near the pavilion. Anyway, it was super quiet until we left this morning in Windy Hill.
@BatteryOaksBilly, too bad we can't get dudes like out of that Rangers book to go clean this crap up huh.

The Redneck Riviera! Spent an entire winter there not too long ago working on all the Lowes Foods. Crackheads in the hotel parking lots caused a lot of problems for us. Work trucks equals treasure boxes filled with pawnable goods to them. I have family living there, they have had about enough and are thinking about selling.

This is a town in need of a serious deep cleansing...

"Crips and Bloods took control of the City of Myrtle Beach this past weekend. A golf cart flash mob occurred on Ocean Boulevard just before the shootings began. Traffic on Ocean Boulevard Sunday afternoon came to a complete halt. Chaos ensued."

Well, it has been nice to be somewhat free of this kind of crap for the last few weeks, but we all knew the lowlifes would be crawling out from under whatever rock they live under sooner or later. I guess that time has arrived.

I take full credit for naming it Murder Beach. It's awful that the children of today will never now the beach as it was in my youth.

Hell, I’d be ok if it was just a semblance of what it was in MY youth (I’m 46). I lived there five years, had family in Pawley’s all my life, have family now in Conway. When I drive through Myrtle now I cringe. Of all the nonsense, Memorial Day bike week is the most ridiculous. I knew quite a few people in the restaurant and hotel business when I lived there. Shriners Week, Harley Week, they’d usually do pretty well. MD week most would take vacation if they could get away.

Yep, the old Swamp Fox ... REAL Pavilion ... Mother Fletcher’s ... man I spent quite a few a Summer Blasts there when you only had to be 18 to buy beer. Cruising (or trolling for girls should I say) Ocean Blvd both north and south after dark. Man ... it was truly a different time ... I miss those days.

Some of my fondest memories were built in that location.

I'm sure there was plenty of shady crap going on in the 80s, but they had the decency to stay hidden, for the most part.

RIP Myrtle Beach.

Went multiple times a year for 38 years of my life. It’s far from the same. They would lock you up for using a curse word 20 years ago. Cops were tough as hell back then. I do not vacation anywhere near there now. The liberals got elected and let it become filth. The peak of violent crime is close during black biker week. Stay clear. Does that make me a racist for pointing out a fact?

Last time I went there '04-05ish I spent more time keeping my wife and Marine buddies from pummeling the rare species of "Gangster Redneck", (term coined by us) I could not enjoy my self. I and a buddy were packing the whole time and that was a good thing. We were less likely to pummel drunk Gangsta Red...

"They" had the boulevard blocked off and were doing donuts in the middle of ocean boulevard Saturday night. Police Would Not go down there. Nobody decent goes on ocean boulevard after dark. When Myrtle Beach Farms abandoned downtown it was the sign "They" needed. Lost...……...

Years since Ive been to bike week
Ive always sort of wanted to witness BBW, heard so many stories about it

I witnessed it one time, but I'm not sure I really witnessed it, if you know what I mean.

The sun was up the entire time I was there. Nightfall saw me at the house.

I witnessed it a couple of times back in the '80's and '90's. Pretty much anything goes. Wide open hotel room doors with orgies going on and the whole nine yards!

I saw the best cop takedown ever just behind the Pavilion in the late 80s. I was with my uncle and younger brother checkin out da wemens and makin fun of tourists. A skinny, 100 lb drunk guy in jeans, no shirt or shoes was arguing with a mountain of a MBPD officer. Guy turns and takes off across the parking lot and the cop laughs out loud. He catches the guy in a few steps by grabbing the waist on his jeans with one hand. Lifts the dude up (his legs were still running in mid air) and puts his other hand behind Mr drunks head. The first thing that touched the asphalt after that was Mr Drunks face and he lost a few teeth that night!

Always been grateful I’m not a beach person. Beaches always seem either over priced locales or full of trash of all stripes. I’ll stick to the spacious hills, lakes and rivers of the inland thank you very much. There is still trash in those areas too, but it’s a little more spread out and hidden. Not all congregated on a little strip of sand.

Isn’t it Jessie Jackson, OhBummer, Al (not so) Sharp’s job to fix this... Oh, that’s right, they made it worse.
The last and only time I went to Murder Beach was in ‘84. I got arrested for singing ‘Yellow Submarine’ while walking down the sidewalk. My bud asked why they grabbed me, so they threw him in the car as well. Charged with public intoxication, we just finished the drive there from Raleigh. The pigs that grabbed us refused to administer a breathalyzer or blood test. Pay the $40 and you’re free to go. We never went back.

My last local trip peddlin' porn to Murder Beach was back in 2011- a good thing, being my last trips.
Marriott had banned porn in their properties by then, which almost dealt a death blow for Sonifi.
After that I went to work for an international company whose porn peddlin' wasn't the core of their business.

I lived in NMB in the mid-90s, and my family are still in the Horry side of Garden City. I hardly visit maybe once a year and we stay in Golfcart City instead of venturing out into Murderbitch. Wife has a competition at the MB HS stadium in June.......I stay strapped with hi-cap mags anytime I'm in Horry (including Billy's, I may have to shoot several drills out of the same mag :)

In the mid 1980’s we had been in Myrtle for less than an hour when my friend got threw in the paddy wagon for standing outside the motel room with a beer. I asked for him to “throw me the damn keys” so I could drive the car to pick him up. They threw me in the back with him. Both got overnight accommodations in the spacious holding cell with 52 people and fat money making fines. They went from arresting for almost nothing to letting the gangs run the city.

Yep, it was their money maker. I refused to pay the $40 for no crime, went before da judge the next day, that sum beech cared about $40, not the truth. We went back the next day to watch from the roof. Cop cars lined up, the one up front would open both back doors, they’d randomly grab people, toss them in the back, drive off & the next car did the same thing.
We bought, then painted them with six dozen eggs. I’ll take NC, VA, TN, WV mountains for R&R instead.

As of about five years ago I knew about the open lawlessness during BBW and the cops operating under a general stand-down order from on high. When did the Crips and Bloods show up?

Thank goodness there are thousands of miles of coastline outside of Murder Beach.

I love the beach, but Myrtle is a hard No from me. Sister-in-law suggested it as a family trip last year. My wife had barely finished the sentence when I said "nope."

Yeah, back when Cherry Grove was the ultimate family beach. I loved the rickety old "Wild Mouse" that ran out over the water!

I was hit with a $210.00 fine and the night in jail. I too went before a judge the next day and the cop lied on the stand. He added more words to what I said in the one sentence. Judge Boss Hog asked me if he was to believe a cop would lie. I said he did and they judge immediately said guilty before I got my partner to testify. Crooks. Made their money and left me broke for three days. Good for you retaliating.

Sonny's Pavilion at Cherry Grove:) The water would come up on the steps at high tide. There was a huge sign coming in to town "The Nation's Widest Beach". You had to Walk to get to the water at low tide. No more, thanks to building of the Jettys at Hog Island and Garden City. They created a toilet bowl swirrel that killed the beaches. Sonny Nixon owned the Pavilion he had 2 StarFire Oldsmobiles. A black one and a white one. 1962 was a magical time to be young and at the beach.

Murder Beach LEs have gone from Corrupt to Inept. They are the laughing stock of LE in this state.
