What have you recently purchased that is firearms related?

Actually this is very good info, you point out areas I had not considered.
I am building for outlaw matches, 2 gun matches and aspire to someday do a 3gun match at CGGR. I also am going to run a 1-4 LVPO.

Well it’s about perfect for that.
If you were going to shoot lots of matches over 300 yards a heavier profile might be best.
But for everything else it rules.
I built a heavier profile 18” rifle with a 1-6 for 3gun, but it just sits in the safe mostly.
The 14.5 just does everything I need and only weighs like 6.5lbs with the scope.

Absolutely no idea why...but I just bought one of these:

I just got the most fun in a box I ever had...got myself one of those CMMG BRAVO..22lr conversion kits for my AR15, for under $200 got the bolt carrier group and 3 very nice magazines, 25 rounds..and they are weighted to feel and look like a regular AR magazines, all you need to do is switch out your regular bcg for the nice stainless steel 22lr bcg, close up your AR and insert one of the provided magazines then plink away with cheap 22lr ammo, and it is accurate , shoots great and didn’t have a problem cycling or loading....also you get all the fun of shooting your AR without the expense or loudness...Its more fun than a barrel of monkees

When guns become outlawed,I will become an outlaw!
The fact that the government would even consider repealing the second amendment is the very reason for which it was written.

I have a 9.5 lbs seekins precision build with a Krieger barrel that I can hit out to 400 pretty easily. I was running a accupoint TR24 G 1-4x24 with the triangle, no bdc. It has been sitting in the safe after the FLD AAS was end of life.
I hope to hit 4.5 lbs without optic and use either the Steiner or the accupoint, I do have a Trijicon 1-6 x24 that I got a good deal on from one of our members. It is currently residing on a IWI x95

I have a low mass recoil system and some other lightweight parts. And the Steiner in an Aero mount. Man it’s great. It’s just so fun and soft shooting. You’re welcome to try it anytime.

Two 10rd D&H 12.7x42mm mags.

12.7x42mm - 10.5” barrel

That’s what it’s called when anybody other that Alexander Arms builds it. AA would call it Beowulf. :D

Lol I just bought a 16" 450 Bushmaster side charging upper and wanted a 12.7x42 but I already have a ton of 450 BM ammo and mags sooooo I stayed with it. I recognized the brake on your upper and knew it was a big bore.

I already have a 16.5” Beowulf. Always thought an SBR would be outrageous, but AA wanted $800+ for their 12” version. My birthday pricing was about to run out at Midway, and for some reason I searched for Beowulf. The 10.5” AR Stoner version is about half the price ($449) of the AA. And it was on sale (for $349). And my birthday pricing knocked another $60+ off. Ended up being $286.57 + tax (found a free shipping code) for the upper including BCG/CH.

Only 5 reviews, and two mention a broken extractor. Midway said a 12 month warranty. Figured it would still be a decent deal if I had to replace the BCG at some point. The 10.5” comes with a flash hider. I have a tank brake on the 16.5”...and really considering swapping the two muzzle devices. Just want to know how teeth-rattling the shorter one would be with the tank brake.

Got this new stock for my AR got nice cushion on it really nice and cushy and the release lever is small but accessible and smooth operation, the cheek rest is excellent lots of comfort with that aggressive looking cutout on the cheek rest its really more comfortable than it looks....made by Adaptive Tactical , this is their Performance Stock for the AR platform....only 30$ I am very happy with this inexpensive offering from them....good quality and fit, smooth operation and comfort..just shows that you dont have to spend a lot of cash to get quality upgrades for your AR builds

Thanks to @BatteryOaksBilly for telling me about these . Because of the pandemic it took 2 months to get them but they are sexy. Thin rosewood grips for my S&W model 39-2. .Have to figure which one they will look the best on.After installing them I will post pic in the handgun sectionIMG_20200527_213259805.jpg

Is that a recent production gun? I had a Nighthawk a few years ago and it was a nice gun but nothing really special. I’m a fan of that colt modified Nighthawk.

Just ordered a 429 DE barrel for my Desert Eagle. Should be able to launch a 240gn 44mag bullet at 1600fps. Factory ammo is $2.00 per round, I can load them for $0.33 each.

Yes they are buying New Colt Classics and doing the following work.

https://www.nighthawkcustom.com/colt-series70
  • Finish: Smoked Nitride
  • Government size frame and 5" barrel
  • Fully machined retro rear sight
  • Solid gold bead front sight
  • Full reliability enhancement and action tune
  • Fully Machined disconnector, sear, hammer strut, pin
  • Fit and blended NH beavertail grip safety
  • NH flat mainspring housing with vertical serrations
  • NH match grade barrel bushing
  • Vertical serrations on front strap and mainspring housing
  • Crowned barrel flush with bushing
  • NH match grade, solid short trigger
  • Completely dehorned for comfortable carry
  • Ultra hi-cut front strap
These come from Colt with NM barrels do when you add the match barrel bushing they tighten up. The action is very mice. Super crisp trigger breaking at at about 3 LBs 10 OZs. Not target pistol light but perfect for carry.
