This might not sound popular, but the way the laws are, unless you knew that tree was going to be a problem, it’s on his insurance company or him to remove what’s in his yard.

Received mine last friday. Will be going towards my Daughter College tuition.

I did not know that

well shit
In the case I had, the tree fell across our only method of access to the home (our driveway) before taking out our neighbor’s fence. Insurance covered removal of the tree (an enormous job) and the fence was on the neighbor.

And for whatever it’s worth, I had some large limbs fall on a neighbor lady's yard, and since she was about 140 years old, I went and cut them up and drug them out of there. The laws don’t really make a lot of sense to me.

I hope this isn't NC specific.

I had a crew grinding stumps in my yard this week and the neighbor with the dead pine came out and asked for a quote to remove it. He got the quote, but then said he was renting the house and would pass it to the owner. I have a feeling the owner isn't going to pay to have it removed.

At least the guy giving the quote says that tree is going to fall and cause someone some damage.

Your insurance guy will know the "rules of the road” in SC on this.

Not a lawyer, but suggest that you send him a certified letter stating that so and so company advised that the tree was dead and a hazard and that his renter had requested a quote to have it removed. Making it a known hazard sets you up to sue him or his insurance if it hits your house. It’s not a slam dunk, it just creates some opportunity.

I'm on it. I just GIS'd the property and will be sending a letter to Georgia next week.

Thanks!

got mine. I'll probably get a troybuilt tiller and an under-sink water filter.
Work gave me $500 too but supposedly that's only good at certain stores and for groceries/necessities. Home Depot only sells necessities...
Work also gave me what they claim is a $3/hr boost, but it's only for the 40hrs i'm salaried for, even though they expect me to work a minimum of 45, and I usually do 50+
