Mask Shamed? Your Karen Response

Damn you're right. They cut it out. I saw it live. Crazy Joy Behar asked him about Trump not wearing a mask. He said that if you were in his office and neither of you had on a mask that you would be exposed to the aerosols in 2 minutes. He then said if you both had cloth masks on that you would both be exposed in about 4 minutes. I didn't watch this clip before I posted it but I just watched it and it didn't have Joy asking him anything at all. The look on that crazy woman's face was priceless when he told her the mask story. Sorry.

Why were you watching The View?

I saw that that Dr was coming on and wanted to see what he had to say about the virus. They started off with Whoopie asking a question, then Behar, then the lawyer lady and finally McCain. This clip has the Behar part missing. Doesn't surprise me as the look on Behars face when he answered like he did was priceless.

One Word: Clippers!

My friend RS talked me into taking the leap recently. I have some Wahl clippers I've been staring at for over a year, afraid to do it, and I took the longest "comb" and buzzed my head in all directions, just like she said, and it looks great....lol. No more WalMart visits for me! YAY!
It will save money, and lessen my stress.
A picture would be nice, please.

Meh.

I've been doing that for years -- only with no "comb" attached.

And just look how I turned out! :p

I'm gonna need a little help understanding you. My position does not require me to assume you are infected. That's an unknown for both parties. Since the science tells me asymptomatic carriers can transmit the disease this is valid and it is the crux of my argument: You can make me sick before you even know that you've been exposed. If that's changed it WILL change my view on masks.
Here is pretty much the same thing he said to Behar on the show.

A new level of enlightenment & freedom you have achieved :D

Bought a cheap set of Wahls right before I retired from the Army & haven't paid for a haircut since. Besides, who has time to have to mess with their hair every day?

i'm guessing her face showed more shock that he didn't agree with her than mine shows about them editing out that part.

Your argument that anyone not wearing a mask is endangering you is a blanket statement and it does require you to assume the person is infected,
Assuming someone is infected won't hurt you, the inverse though... I'm not wearing one but I don't begrudge anyone who does.

Fair enough I'll agree. Im not sure if I am clean. I've been out and about. Can you be sure you're clean? You have to make an assumption at some point about the unknowns.
Well, no one can be 100% sure about much of anything, so the answer has to be no. And, as I said, I do wear a mask when I am in a crowded store like Lowe's. I'm not too worried about myself, I have a pretty good immune system, but my wife could be in trouble if she caught the Chinese bat flue so I don't want to bring it home if I can help it. But really there is no way to be completely safe, and people are just going to have to learn to deal with that.

Oh, I understand. If others want to wear a mask while driving down the road with the windows rolled up that's up to them. I'll think they are idiots, but it's their idiotic choice to make. I do have a problem with the idea that we have to treat everyone we meet as if they are some kind of a Covid typhoid Mary, though. Eventually we all have to make some kind of a cost/benefit analysis and decide what we personally feel like is safe enough to live with. I also have a real problem with the feeling that wearing a mask in public has become a way of "virtue signaling" and demonstrating obedience to the herd mentality, whether it is doing any good or not. I think that's what's bugging a lot of us.

The “hey, where’s your mask” thing is unlikely to happen to me.

When I go to a place where most folks expect me to wear pants, I’ll have pants on. When I go a place most folks expect me to have a tie, I’ll be wearing a tie. When I go a place most folks expect me to be wearing a mask... I’ll have a mask. We live in a society, how hard is it to get along?

The “I ain’t gonna ‘cause I don’t wanna” thing is for children. There are plenty of times where I feel like “screw everyone, I don’t feel like following someone else’s crappy rules, I can think for myself”. But instead I do as expected, to better fit in with society.

So you put your mask on as soon as you walk out the door? Since wearing a mask in public is “expected “?

My reply would be the same thing I’ve told managers & supervisors over the years: “You want me to do_________, make it a rule or a law”. Haven’t found myself yet in a business that requires a mask, doubt it’ll happen soon.

If you go to the Dr, Dentist or barber shop you will have to wear one.

Ironic. I'm sitting in a meeting before a church event about how to handle the mask dance since Governor Blackface made them mandatory beginning today.

Basically you can't sing or speak into a microphone with a mask on, but we can't appear to be publicly flouting the governor's decrees.

If I feel the need to respond to people I don’t want to engage with, I choose a non-sequitur or nonsense response.

They are looking for a fight. I’m already conditioned to use this technique on people who approach me for spare change.

"Can I ask you a question", "can you help me out with a few bucks for a meal".... "Funny thing, I was going to ask you the same question, have a blessed day".

Whether or not you are going to wear a mask, shaming someone for doing so is as bad as shaming someone for not wearing one. The only reason people are wearing them is because they are trying to protect, be considerate, and/or simply do the right thing for their fellow human beings. Whether or not that is misguided isn't for me to say because watching a Youtube video didn't make me an expert on my own confirmation bias or an infectious disease expert.

I had a lady wonder out of her house and ask me why I wasn't wearing a mask while I was cutting line in an overgrown backyard. I just smiled and said "I'm good, but you stay safe, ma'am." She smiled, wished me a good day and went back inside. It cost me zero pride or integrity to be polite to someone that is likely worried because, like all of us, they are being hyped to the point delusion by an overbearing media, and they actually have legit at-risk family members so they are just being over zealous worry warts.

I've probably been called an a-hole by more folks than some of you even know and even I'm not going to be rude to somebody for buying the hype (or possibly believing the truth) about this whole pandemic and precautions regarding PPE. If someone is legit rude to me, I'll deal with that then and there, but I am going to at least try to act like the damned civilized Southern gentleman I was raised to be.

Guys, let's not beat each other up over wearing a stinkin' mask or not. Want to wear one, wear it. Don't want to wear one, don't. Let the other guy do the same - it ain't worth arguing about and sure ain't worth losing a friend over.

Barbers are required to wear masks by Cooper’s order. Patrons are not.

On Wednesday, I went to the doctor’s office for blood work for an upcoming physical. Employees had masks on. Some patients did. Some didn’t.

Last Friday, I watched a hotel owner absolutely come unglued at having four people in the lobby waiting to check in and none had masks. He was wearing a mask, gloves, and was behind a large plexiglass shield. He was checking me in and three guys came in behind me. He yelled at them that they were endangering his life and had to wear a mask or go somewhere else. Long story short, they left. He then looked at me and said “You need a mask too, sir.” I replied, “If you’ll just finish checking me in, I’ll go to my room and you won’t see me again tonight.” He ran my card and I went to the room.

The next day, we saw him outside talking to someone with no mask or gloves on.

I've been dealing with my very sick mother the last 4 weeks, in and out of several hospitals, dr. offices and specialists. Many, dare I say most of the medical professionals I have delt with, outside of pt contact, are either not wearing masks or ask if I mind if they remove theirs once in the office and the door is closed.. I half ass wore a mask once that they handed me at the screening spot to go to the pharmacy inside the hospital to pick up a script.

I've had EMTs and Paramedics at the house twice now, both times they are unmasked talking to me but do mask up upon making patient contact.

Idiots....how did he survive for so long???

God gave me and everyone else a really unique and special human quality.
It's called.........

AN IMMUNE SYSTEM!!!!!!!!!

The blatant Hysteria has got to stop. Everywhere I look I see people in fear. I really don't understand how they got brainwashed so easily. I guess my faith in Jesus #1...& Glock #2 makes me see things differently....off the soap box.

Sorry for your mother. I'll keep y'all in my thoughts.

I don't wear a mask. I haven't said anything to anyone, nobody has said anything to me. I'd like for it to stay this way.

Karen: why dont you have a mask? You are trying to kill us all!!!!

Me: starts coughing uncontrollably in Karen's direction and stumbling her way while doing so.

while your stumbling toward Karen be sure to utter “brainssssss brainnnssss me hungryyyy” with your arms out in front of you all stiff like

What an excellent thought. What is this were like a rule? One that could be named after some precious, valuable metal or something? Far out there, I know.

Giving something to work with here: NIOSH rating for N95 masks: Removes 95% of all particles that are at least 0.3 microns in diameter. The N99 and N100 remove more particles, but still only .3 microns or greater. The coronavirus measures between .05 and 0.2 microns in diameter. Your mask won't stop the virus, but it will reduce droplet spread.

Also, the way most people wear and handle them, they're likely increasing exposure risk rather than decreasing it and falsely think they're being safe in the process.

ha, reminds me of my biggest “durrrr f$&( moment...pathogens are annoying as poop...anyway...

Took my mask off and put it on top of dash as I let it bake in the UV rays when not actively using the mask. One time I came back and tossed it up there too carelessly Nd it went over the front windshield air vents...turned on AC which was half on that setting...didn’t realize for like 30 seconds I was just air blasting every particle off that mask into my car lol.

I’m definitely protect myself better than most, but I’m far from a level 4 lab staff who needs to think about this every minute from every angle every day...it’s sooo easy to make careless mistakes. I’m always pointing out the errors in my wife’s ways when she thinks she protecting us...

You're getting the heat, but you may not be getting the UV you hope for.

Instead, roll down a side window, catch the strap and roll up the window.

GD rayban windshields!! Though I suppose this is huge + 99.9% of the time.

thanks for the info. Will be leaving it on deck or drive way from now on. I like to let nature decontaminate my sh%t when more modern techniques are in short supply.
