Was supposed to meet @11B CIB today after the gun show. Drive to the meet site was about an hour. He was going to text me when he left. I was going to text him when I left, but I had neglected to get his number. I didn't hear from him by the end of the show, so I PMed him on the forum that I was headed his way and asked him to text me again, gave him my number again, then left for the meet site.

I was about half an hour down the road and I got a text from him. Turns out, he had tried to text me earlier, but there was a typo in the cell number I gave him the first time. He was already on his way, too.

Despite not hearing from him, I took him at his word and headed to the meet, despite it being an hour out of my way home. Despite not hearing from me, he headed to the meet, despite it being an hour drive for him. We got there within ten minutes of each other. Love it when I can take a man at his word and count on him to follow through.

Thanks again to @11B CIB for being a stand-up guy and trusting me to be the same.

Yep. Had a similar experience with him keeping his word. Bought some ammo from him a couple years back. I live in western NC. I do service calls all over the southeast. I was in Chattanooga TN, then Ringgold GA, then Cordele GA the next. I told him what time I would be diverting through Columbia on the way home. He met me, but had accidentally left a small amount of the ammo out. He told me, as I might not have noticed. He said he would go home and get it (15 to 20 mins each way), or adjust the price. I preferred to have it, as it was some ridiculous 300+ grain loaded 454 Cassul. He didn't hesitate. He drove while I was grabbing a bite to eat at the gas station. He came back, we completed deal, and parted ways. IT WAS ABSOLUTELY POURING RAIN BY THE TIME HE HEADED BACK. I apologized for wanting him to go back home and get it, and he did the same for delaying me. We were both soaked. Our vehicles were drenched inside. It was an uncomfortable ride back to Morganton.. lol.

@11B CIB is definitely a man of his word!

Remember when, it was I'll meet you here in a week; and you'd meet up without even a phone call!
...and get a handwrittem post card in the mail a few days later, saying, "Thank You!"

That was some hellacious rainfall

I opened that ammo can and was like “Oh god I brought the wrong one...”

I had to make it right somehow. It was my mistake 100% and I’m glad you were kind enough to give me a chance to square the deal.

I had a situation once where a seller did NOT take kindly to something that happened

I bought a dog in 2009 that my wife saw and fell in love with (all of our other dogs before and since have been rescues). I had to drive up above Charlotte to get him (2+ hours one way) and stopped by the bank and grabbed the cash for it, sealed it in an envelope and went to pick the dog up. In the guy’s house, I pulled the cash out, threw the envelope in his trash can and handed him the money. He counts it and says I’m $50 short. I’d just gone to the bank and gotten the money and the count was right. He was getting less and less amused with my presence since he was SURE I’d shorted him intentionally. I was trying to google an ATM nearby...nothing available. A lightbulb went off in my head and I dug in his trash can while he watched and found the envelope. The $50 bill was crammed inside the envelope, stuck to the adhesive strip. Even though the guy saw me find it in the trash he still acted like I’d cheated him.
