I have been debating this for a while and think I’m ready to commit to my first suppressor. I’ve had a few conversations both here and with friends and feel that a 30 cal suppressor would be the most logical first step. I have been really enjoying my 300 blk and understand I can also use it for 223/556. Does anyone have any recommendations for a decent (quality and price) 30 cal suppressor. Want to start research based on some tried and true recommendations. Thanks

I've been very happy with my SiCo Omega on...

6.5 Creedmoor
.308 Win
.223
300 BLK

There are dozens of good options out there.

I don’t think you’d go wrong with the Omega. I’d also look at the YHM Resonator and the Dead Air Nomad, just for a start.

FWIW...I’d also recommend you shooting one first, if you haven’t already. It just helps to have some realistic expectations.

Plenty of members here that are close enough to you for a demo.

Rugged Razor or a Micro 30 are both great options. Surge is a little large for my taste.

There are so many good choices right now

Tough to argue with the Omega, it’s been out for a while but still a great can.

The new YHM offerings are very attractive. Take a good look at the Resonator R2.

I have a Griffin Alpha and really like it. Side by side with my friends Omega, both on savage .308 bolt guns, the Griffin has a deeper tone which makes it seem a little quieter, no idea on Db’s.

Agree. I had the opportunity to shoot one at the range a few months back which is what triggered the interest. Then I started thinking about possibly putting it in my 6.5cm which I use for hunting.

+1 for the Rugged Razor. I have this suppressor and have no complaints. Remember the wait might be long but in the end its worth it. ;)

Anyone have any experience with Black Aces Tactical Po Boy?

@rdec873 I'm not telling you what to do but IMHO you would be better to stick to a brand name suppressor that you can afford. You will be alot happier in the end.

If you at going that route. Just form 1 a tube with a bunch of washers safe you some money.

The resonator is one of the cheapest solid cans on the market that frequently gets high marks across the board

I was in a similar spot back in March... at the end of the day, I opted for a Resonator R2 (.30) and a Sandman (.22). I chose the YHM Resonator R2 after a significant amount of reading reviews, talking with members here and watching videos. The mount system is solid and the noise reduction across calibers is very good.

As a strong influencer, the price point for the R2 was about half that for competitors...

Thanks all I’ve been researching all day and think the Resonator May be the best choice. If anyone is around the Raleigh area, where did you purchase through? I known there is a silencer shop booth at Triangle shooting academy but again, looking for experience.
Thanks

The Silencer shop kiosk is the way to go as far as purchase. Buy at www.Silencershop.com and then they will send an bar code to scan at the kiosk and you can finish your transaction, except maybe the pic.

I bought my Resonator from Carolina Gunrunners and used the SS kiosk there with my own Trust.

...and now I continue to wait...

I own a Resonator. I believe I payed around $500 for it minus the stamp. It is the original version, not the R2. I have YHM mounts on most of my AR rifles/pistols and I really like the option of using the can on multiple guns in 300 BO & 5.56.

Should be getting my Turbo any day now.
How is the point of impact shift on YHM cans? Is it a considerable difference?

I didn't really pose that question well, does it stay sighted in or is the gun way off every time the suppressor is removed and put back on weeks later? Not sure if you move your cans around your gun often. I've just read some complaints (may be just bs) that some interfaces do not do well with returning back to zero I guess the can is clocked differently or something?

Sorry for my ignorance I'm trying to make a decision on my first NFA item

I still do silencers. Have a few for demo. Right down the street from you. Personally Thunder Beast is still the best 30 cal can on the market.

and Thunderbeast just announced a new .30 can that is 1-2 dB quieter than their previous model.

I've transferred 2 cans through TSA, purchased from SilencerShop. The kiosk makes it dirt simple and the staff has been very professional about it all. I think it's the nicest gun store I've ever been in. Would recommend.

I would love to have your business as a sponsor here. Issue with anything right now is stock. Resonator seems to be out at most of the distributors, including silencer shop.
