Malkin: Get Up Off Your Knees

If a law enforcement officer or soldier wants to protest, take the uniform off, make a sign, and get in line...otherwise stand your ground and earn your pay.

To Bend the Knee is an act of submission, of surrender...it is a disgraceful and shameful act of cowardice by someone who is beaten and defeated.

I’m on the fence with this one. I get that there is a perception of weakness. But if all it takes to end riots is for LE decked out in riot gear armed with machine guns and antipersonnel vehicles to take a knee for the masses to accept that these cops do not condone the behavior of a murderer than so be it. We are all Americans and I can see the symbolism of aligning with them (the peaceful protesters) having more value than words out of a chiefs pre scripted “statement”...

I dony think we can have it both ways. We either want LEO to be active members of our community or we don’t. The FBI or president or something like that is over the top, but the police are also the protesters neighbors.

the real question is, why are we so outraged over a single murder. Black people murder white people every day. White people murder white people every day. Black people murder black people every day. The officer has been arrested on murder charges and will likely get shanked in prison.

what more do people really want/expect? Even the family just wants justice, which is in the process of being served.

The president of the United States has personally tasked AG with conducting an investigation into all involved and has classified that investigation of the highest priority.

if folks are not satiated, it’s because this isn’t about Floyd to them. It’s that simple.

I think Malkin is correct. Kneel only to God. I don't think Cooper is correct, but he makes a good point. I will also take my immortal soul, with hopes of treasures in heaven.

The line of Fayetteville police in riot gear that "took a knee" together in front of the protesters was unorthodox, and the results were good. However, I think the same result could have been achieved without kneeling. Traditionally, it's done by sending forward a party with a white flag, to have a parley. If such a parley ended with handshakes and mingling, all would have been well.
