Got a ruptured case in the PK today, which was removed later.

Another ruptured case ad this time broke the charging handle in half on the PKM Friday morning. No spare parts so wall hanger until another is captured. Still has a ruptured case in the barrel, hence need to beat charging handle to get stuck round out of chamber. Beating broke the charging handle  Did get the stuck live round out later.

Not quite sure when it happened, but at some point I guess I became an Arsenal fanboy...

Just snatched up this nearly new SAM7R - bolt and carrier look immaculate; allegedly it has two mags through it from the original owner who bought it at K-VAR.

$900 out the door. Not too shabby!

Huh? 900 for a milled received Arsenal? Why did I not buy that?

0CBB49B3-334F-41EE-83DD-511D9EC42019.jpeg changed the Psa ake up with some high quality Texas weapon systems hand guard, magpul stock and Aimpoint pro optic. Man I can’t wait to shoot this Thursday next purchase will be a ak12.

It may not be pretty, but it has character. This was a "Grade C" SKS beater I bought real cheap a few years ago.

It had half an inch of filthy cosmoline on (and inside) it. I disassembled it and cleaned the metal and put the parts in a box in a drawer of a toolbox. I put the action in an old soft case in a closet. I cleaned the wood as best I could and coated it in whiting paste. I stuck it in a cardboard box and set it in the garage to soak out. Then, I forgot about it for a couple of years. I stumbled onto it again doing my Covid decluttering. So I cleaned it up, put some Tom's mix on the stock and reassembled it. Gonna test it this weekend.

Hello, Paki tape! Managed to nab a bunch of the stuff from a shop in Kabul, thanks to a buddy in the region there. Have a few more rolls than what's shown here. Not sure yet what I'm going to wrap, but as with most of my AK tinkering, my circa 2015 WASR-10 will likely serve as guinea pig.

Yeah, it smells like words we're not allowed to use in public sections of the forum.

It's nearly a 90-minute drive each way, but I finally found a place here to shoot out to 750 yards. Paper targets only ( ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ), and I only shot out to 200 yards on this first visit, but it was nice to punch a few decent holes at those distances with these...

As a former member of DPRC though, it's quite disappointing not to be able to shoot steel at 200, 300+ yards.

The WASR lives with some random parts I had. I managed to wedge a particularly burnt upper handguard in the gas tube. Also picked up a bunch of blanks and a BFA yesterday from Victory Arms in Mocksville that I'm going to try with this thing next week.
Not Paki tape per se, but self bonding silicone tape works great for various things and is good up to 500 degrees F.

Lookin' good, man. How about a shot of your WASR with the hundo mag inserted?

Had the trigger spring/bolt stop in the M44 (1945) break on the range today. Have put something near 1500 rds thru it lately. Came back from the range, grabbed the shot out 1891 Dragoon (1921 dated) and swapped parts.

Copied off @Sniffler and scored a bulged ZPAP of my own. Pretty nice overall; haven't had a chance to shoot it yet. Soon. Rivets are 95+%. Same for finish. Bolt has a bit of grit but that should work itself out with use. Wood is super dry - here's a pre-tung oiled and Renaissance Waxed photo...

I like the Yugo grips so that's what I put on. Might go with a leather Romanian sling. Anyone have any decent leads on surplus Yugo slings?

Very nice Comrade! 0kHAtH2.jpg

I rubbed my stocks smooth with 0000 steel wool then tung oil. I need some wax for sure.

@THE PUNISHER nice AK-V! I don't know much about the Century pistols - what are those holes in the rear of the receiver?

FINALLY got around to installing the wood on my new-to-me SAM7R. Work has been insane since C19 popped off.

This took about four hours of filing, sanding, fitting, and drilling (and a tiny bit of staining to cover up some nicks I made in the process) to mount the virgin Russian furniture set - quite a bit longer than I thought it would. SAM looks incredible, in my opinion, but not quite done. The first owner sawed off the sling mount and part of the lower handguard retainer to fit the quad rail, so at some point I'll need to press off a few things to install a new retainer. Also, seller lost the original cleaning rod, so I'm off to pick up one of those. Still, not too shabby at first glance, and this PK-01VS fits like a glove.

210 rds today out of a Izhevsk 1954 dated AK47. Blue mag wasn't locking in, had to get a file to the mag lug on back of magazine.

Beautiful. What brand(s)/type of x39 did you run through it?

Also ... got a lead on any spare cleaning rods???
