What did you do in the reloading room today?

Trying to get a bunch of different calibers to let at the lake house. Got busy reloading 100 - 9MM with Hornady XTP 124, 100 - 45 ACP with RMR RN 230 bullets. 50 - 44 Spl with Lucky 13 205 SWC (have not heard that name in a long time) and 50 - 44 Mag with Missouri 240 SWC. Now I got to get some plastic cases for 38/357 (100 of each) and 6.5 CM.

Reactions: Me.
Well I loaded 80 ads of 6.5 CM for the Frontline Match next weekend. Also made me a jig to mark my cases so I can Identify them easier in the pile of brass after each stage.

What kind of luck do you have getting your own brass back?
Well I've only shot one match and I wasn't sure how to mark them for it so I marked the primer ( Big Mistake lol ) You had to pick them all up to tell which was yours. I got back probably 70% of them. I noticed after the first stage people were marking them around the case body so you could instantly tell who's was who's. They were also using multiple colors and schemes which made it easier. I decided to start marking mine with a hot pink sharpie between the case rim and case body. This way I can look down and see which might be mine without having to pick up all of them. On some of the stages it was easier than others because of the type of barricade you're shooting from. The ones where your shooting off of concrete pipes and stuff were hard to find them because they would fall down between the crevices. I hope to do better at getting them back this next time. I want to get a good system down before I start buying $1 a piece brass lol

These are headed to Tanzania in August with a friend of mine and his new 458 B&M....... 18 inch gun, 450 #13 Solids 76/TAC at 2290 fps 58300 PSI.................

What is your friend hunting in Tanzania?

Looks like pretty much anything he wants to.

Nothing reloading wise, but I did work on a really old Haenel air pistol that a friend gave me. I fully disassembled it to be able to clean all the dried and caked lubricant. It has a couple of leather seals that should be replaced, but they were intact so I just oiled them up really well. I took it outside and fired a few shots through it, it had enough power to put a pellet through one side of a milk jug.

Yesterday I learned shoving 40 brass through a gutted Lee FCD backward on a 9mm bullet sizing spud does a much better job of restoring it than going mouth first like they say you should with a Bulge Buster kit, less effort and zero rejects.
What’s this “spud”, and can this be done with a Dillon crimp die?

Modified my bench. Bench is sturdy metal, top was not. Attached 2x8's to the top and extended it 26" to the side for my presses. More to come tomorrow but it's dang sturdy now. Less than $40 invested and some know how.

Pardon my mess, it has to be messy before it can be finished.

Temporarily setup my new Lee APP press just to get aquatinted with it, and to figure out where/how I will mount it. With everything that came in the package (and my decapping die) I was able to start decapping 45acp (and a few others, but I started with 45). As fast as I could load the tube and pull the handle, I could decap brass. It did have a few hicupps, but for the most part it worked very well.

Very nice @Clicker . I caught the same bug that must be going around and cast about 1500 9 mm , 125 grain bullets today. then I powder coated a thousand of them. And i thought ice cream was addictive. I'm trying to stop all this casting but then I read about different people posting that 9 mm bullets cost about $0.30 apiece. My Scottish ancestry is a strong force that keeps me going.

Looks good!

Dropped 100 primers, then dropped 100 freshly loaded rounds and cracked the glass on my calipers in the process. Guess I have a case of the Mondays.

Once the baby went to sleep, I was able to load up 200rd 125gr TNT .300BLK.

I might make this a 1-2x/wk thing. It can be tricky to find time to load AND keep the wife happy, with an infant around.

Broke my decapping die pin in my old lyman all American 30-30 set...dang. Good thing they're like 10 for $6. Another order to place.

Looks like this is in my future, thankful for videos:

Lee universal decapping die with several spares is what I use. This way I can wet tumble brass and not have to deal with the primer residue that will screw up the brass. Citric acid and dawn is what I use.
