Dallas TX PD May Not Be Able to Use Guns Against Knives

BS like this is why I think every official who has the power to make policy/law for LE, should do a ride along for a full shift in both a nice area during the day and high crime area at night. Walk a day in their shoes, see the good and the bad, THEN make decision about what needs to be fixed.

These are also concerning:

Officers shall not shoot their firearms

3) if a suspect is driving away or sitting in a parked car

So.....if you approach a vehicle and the subject inside draws a weapon....because they are in a parked car...an officer CANNOT protect themselves?

5) if the officer is alone – for example, after a solo foot chase.

So....an officer bails out and gets in a foot chase and the suspect presents a handgun.....again, an officer CANNOT defend himself.

Crap like this means it's time for officers to "let the world burn" and go find other employment, it's not worth it anymore. Let idiots fend for themselves.

Put them with the “right” officer on a summer night, and it’ll only take one night to open their eyes.

I did one in West CLT 3rd shift years ago. The officer thought it was a boring night(for the area), I loved it.

Or have just one of them get stabbed by an 8" chef knife so the rest can see how fast people die from knife wounds. Retards.

Any doubters can go ahead and do a ride along, and any perps with knives can be handled by these geniuses.

Why not just partner up officers with a Social Work in Residence. This SW rides shotgun all day every day and advises the officer on how to proceed.

this way, Officer can sleep at night knowing his “political and propaganda officer” is on the hook for accountability and in the wrong situation he can always just point his knife wielding perp toward his politburo companion for a good stabbing while making his escape.
 
Being an officer on the Dallas PD might become a safe and easy job:
  • Respond to a call of a maniac with a machete
  • Use the car's PA system to tell the maniac to be calm
  • Call for a Social Worker; eat a snack while waiting
  • Make sure the dashcam records the SW's death
  • Call for an ambulance to pick up the SW's body
 
I have no more middle fingers to flip. All the damn cops need to stay home for the July 4 weekend and see how that goes.

Or... maybe they can just send drones around. If you don't have to do anything but use a PA system and watch, why drive there at all? Driving is pretty risky behavior compared to sitting back and flying a drone. Also, drones can be non-offensive rainbow colors, and the voice can be computer generated as not to have any race or gender bias, and can be broadcast in 20 different languages. Hmm... wait, if the maniac is deaf though, he won't... damn. Such a good idea it started out as.
 
I believe I have a solution to this. I started to make a joke about it but now I’m quite serious...

Anyone in a position to dictate such policy (Councilpersons, etc.) should be mandated to an annual 5 day “ride-along” with an officer. The ride-along should consist of 5 full shifts during which the “rider” will be the primary officer on each call and stop. The LEO will remain in the car and ONLY serve to drive and make arrests AFTER the rider determines an arrest should be made. The rider may be armed or unarmed as he/she chooses. Any rider that survives qualifies to set policy.
 
All you need is a second drone projecting a holographic image of a person signing what the original drone is saying. Problem solved. Plus you get the added benefit of having to pay a salary for two drone operators
 
We have now entered the twilight zone.

Picture if you will, a country where the stupid elect morons to make laws and expect the masses to follow those laws. And expect people to volunteer to become Police Officers, put their life in danger and enforce those laws, Until, the laws are inconvenient, then we toss them all out and start all over with new softer laws that are less inconvenient.

They will issue all officers rape whistles like they have in the UK. When things go south they need to radio for a supervisor and social worker who can unlock the firearms locker under dual control.

Here’s a long shot twist ... some yahoo with a CHP sees a LEO being attacked and acts “to save the LEO from serious harm or death” what happens there?

depends on how woke the cop is. either they arrest you to cover their own butt, or they shoot you on the spot for using your privilege to kill a good boy who only had a knife.
