Aimpoint ACRO P-1 Lessons Learned

Larry is saying zero at 10, confirm at 15.

I zeroed at 25, just because the math is easier for a math challenged dumbo like me. Plus I can really see what my groups are at a longer distance.

1 moa clicks on windage and elevation are 1/4” adjustments in point of impact at 25 yards. right?

I’ll find out soon enough if I need to zero at a closer distance.

No. He says he zero's it right above sights at 10 yards (bullet impacting below dot slightly at 10). He confirms zero at 25 yards.

Which means: he zeros at 25 yards.

edit: he mentions later quickly "confirm at 15" after saying 25. I believe he mispoke and meant 25.

Age

At 5:30 he says inside 10 meters irons are better......I see what I mean.
The guys kicking the most a$$ at our matches with distances all under 25 yards, and usually under 20, are almost all running optics now. Plus IDPA has a lot of old farts, and even Jerry Miculek is saying how much he likes running an optic now for the old eyeballs.

The advantage of optics is maintaining target focus rather than shifting focus from target to sights.

As we age, our eyeball lens gets stiffer and it takes more effort and time to focus close.
