Anyone bought a new office chair recently and have a recommendation or warning? I'm in the market as I hope to continue my WFH type work in the near future and my old one is showing it's age.
Type of chairs I'm looking for:
Big and tall type- mostly big, not very tall
USA made or at least not Chinese
Less than $250

I've perused Amazon but first few I looked at were Serta knockoffs that either blatantly or less-than-overtly claimed to be Serta made.
Rooms To Go was no better, in fact worse on the specs side, very little info.

Check wayfair.com or overstock.com... and good luck with American made in that price range, or finding one American made at all. Unfortunately, we now produce little we consume.

When we went full time wfh I picked up a serta on sale. Super comfy

"Serta Smart Layers Hensley Big And Tall Bonded Leather High-Back Chair"

I agree that you’ll have great difficulty finding a non-Chinese made chair in that price range. Virtually all the American-branded chairs you see in stores are made in China by a company that licenses the brands for that product category. The American brand company has nothing to do with the chair other than collecting a royalty. I’ve been in the factory.

Solly Chalie.

I have an Alera Mota series chair. I got one at work about 3 years ago and liked it so good I bought one for home as well. Not sure where it is made, but I paid less than 300 for mine. Very comfortable chair and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one.

I picked up a Seven Seas by Hooker when a local furniture business was closing. Got it for around half price. Love it. But not exactly in your price range at half price. If you are planning on using it daily, and for several years, plan on replacing a cheap chair at least once in your pricing. Buy one nice chair, or deal with multiple crappy chairs is my argument.

I use a padded folding chair from a card table set. High end living here. That $250 could but a decent amount of ammo you know.
