PHASE 2 Extended w/mask wear mandated in public

Sheetz has sign asking you to wear your face mask for safety, if you are not wearing one they assume it is for medical reasons. ;)

I had to ignore my first "masks required" sign at 5:45. Nobody said a word.

I can't see anything if I wear a mask. My glasses get fogged up badly when I exhale.

Very few people wear masks in public here in SC. I haven't seen any signs requiring a mask.

Just left a Dollar General where the manger was running around chasing people who had come in with out a mask telling them they had to be masked and was handing out masks to force compliance. She approached my daughter and said with a tone "where's your mask your supposed to be wearing one" to which I said "ma'am I'd love to wear one but I've got heart and lung problems along with a host of other problems".

She then looked at my wrist and saw my medical alert bracelet and began apologizing saying oh no, your good you got that on pointing to the braclet. I continued to say if she really wanted me to I'd wear the mask she had in her hand. She kept saying oh no, she was sorry for telling me I had to wear one and I was good because my braclet. She then darted off towards another group without even thinking of telling my adult daughter she had to be masked. The funny thing is I have a couple of surgical and N95 masks in the car and have been wearing one occasionally depending on where I go and the crowds. I was just to tired and lazyto go get one.

Once in the car daughter and I had a good laugh about how quick the managers tone changed and how embarrased she seemed once she saw the medic alert bracelet. Told my daughter I could see myself having fun with this mandatory mask deal. Just start approaching the entrances to stores with my wrist held up for the bracelet to be seen while telling the mask police have a nice day.

Maybe we all should take a page out of the 70s era feminist playbook and start burning our masks.
I was a teenager in the 70’s. We didn’t even know they used to wear bras.

I also have a medical alert bracelet, and I never thought about showing it to anyone! Great idea! I doubt they'd ask to see what it's for.

@Gator posted this in the Hickory gun show thread...just an example of how the mandate has no teeth...I like it. :D

From C&E's web site-

Governor Cooper has ordered that all masks be mandatory as of 5:00 p.m. on Friday. If you attend our gun show and you do not have a mask on, we are going to assume you have a medical condition that prevents you from wearing one.!

We hope to see you at the show!

Have a great weekend!

You don't have to tell them anything regarding your medical issues. I don't think any are even going to ask.

They don't even want to get into my laundry list of issues.....borriinnggggg!

At Carolina Beach. All businesses have strict policies with signs outside saying “must wear masks to enter.

So, people walk up, put on mask, walk inside about 10 feet and take it off and proceed to hang out and drink at bar.

It’s pretending. Pretending is saving us all!

We're these masks she was carrying sealed in a sterilized wrapper? And was she wearing gloves covering her snot germed hands? And could she prove that the exterior of the gloves had not touched her face or her butt crack?

Yeah, I'm not putting on a mask that some stranger gave me....

This has been an entertaining thread. LOL

I do want to see one of you in public with a gas mask, that would make my day.

I had a Dr appt in May, had to do my blood letting session and had to wear a mask. That is the only time I have put one on. I have walked out of stores that required them and don't shop there. Now that the anointed one has deemed them mandatory, I guess I can't blame the store itself.

Wearing a mask with a beard is a PITA!!

I was passing out food and drinks out the drive thru at the place where I work. Woman got mad that I touched her cup lid with my gloved hand. So I made her a new drink. My thought was "now how did the lid get on the cup?" I still had to handle the lid. If people are so bent put of shape about this, just stay home in you insulated self contained bubble and don't bother me.

We did a day trip down to the surf city area and we were in a gift shop, basically we had to pass this lady in a hallway area. She was freaking out, full panic mode. If you are that scared, why are you out in public? My wife and I backed out and hollered at her that the coast was clear.

Exactly. Quarantines are for the sick and high risk. Not for the young and healthy. No further evidence is needed as to the polarization of all this. It seems there are only 2 sides allowed. Either wear a mask and hide, or FU to all of it. How about some people stay home and wear masks. That’s their decision. And maybe it’s based on a Doctor’s advice. And the rest of the people should politely wash their hands, keep soMe distance where possible and refrain from shooting any a-holes. Be nice. Until terms dictate that you can’t.

I'm at Denny's this morning and they have a sign posted saying you have to have a mask to enter per King cooper....

Of course I entered Without a mask. Hostess offered a mask after asking if I had one ..I replied that I have medical condition and per ADA they can't ask about it.
Immediately she and the manager that was only a few feet away were very apologetic and said yes sir ..of course.. we're sorry.

:)

Got a text from a friend at the Old Salem (WS) Farmer's Market this morning - some older man was there and people starting getting on him about no mask - he took his shirt off and wrapped it around his face, "Happy now?"
LOL good on that dude
Now, I know some will say he should have said X or done Y, but I like what he did

My sister texted me this morning, she went through the drive-through at the CVS pharmacy, she’s in her car in the drive-through and they wouldn’t serve her until she put a mask on. In her car!
