I'm working with some folks on a class in Raleigh at the end of July, and we need to find ammo for out of towners flying in.

I appreciate any pointers to local dealers (or non-local)? I'm looking for up to 21,000 rounds of 9mm

Thanks

Unfortunately, 21,000 rounds of 9mm may exceed the total currently available on the shelves of every LGS in the state. :(

Good luck. 21,000 rounds sounds like a tall order.
I was just on SG ammo earlier. Nothing, except a scarce few boxes self defense varieties at a buck a round. Outdoor limited, had a few boxes. $.40 a round for FMJ

@poller I don’t mean to sound like debbie downer, but I think the chances of finding 21,000 rounds of 9mm are slim and none, and even if you do the price per round will be breathtaking.

How many out of towners are coming in that they are going to shoot 21000 rounds in a class?

I think we had thirty at a Hackathorn - Vickers class two years ago and we might have burned through 18,000 in 2.5 days. Would have been more but it was cold and wet.

I was in a couple serious gun stores yesterday. From what I saw on the shelves, I don’t think they had a case of 9mm ball between ‘em. :(

Can anyone tell me why online retailers of ammunition do not have a way to filter products to only show what is in inventory? Some will show long lists with 0 in stock (sgammo) while others actually make you click through (Academy) to see that they are out of that item.

This was always one of the attractions of Outdoor Limited. Their inventory is listed in real-time and if you could order it, they’d ship it.

Grand Total $9,503.19
Subtotal $8,610.00
Shipping & Handling (FedEx - Ground) $292.29
Tax $600.90
Look how much he’d save having it shipped to my address. :D

I was poking around at SportsmansGuide and they were showing some popular 9mm fmj not being available till 10/9/21

Outdoor Limited has cases for $.43 a round.

Demand for training from new gun owners (and potential gun owners) is extremely high right now, but ammo scarcity is making it difficult to meet that demand.

AmmoSeek.com man. Thank me later. Refreshes like every 30 seconds and is API connected to every retailer I can think of. Default sorts price per round low-to-High but can customize however you want. Can filter brand, store, shipping cost, grain blah blah

Holy smokes. I was going to demonstrate with “wolf” or “Tula” and both had zero results. Wild. Had no idea ammo situation was THAT bad right now. Never seen zero results on ammoseek before.

The problem with ammoseek these days is as soon as something decent posts its gone within minutes.

Yea ammoseek has been around forever, but i found that i always bought from TargetSportsusa. So i only buy there now. The issue with ammoseek i see is they have a bunch of fly by night companies on there i have never heard of and they don't factor in shipping, just an icon to tell you if it is high or low. I also have seen people say it was in stock then its not. right now it is handy because FINDING ammo is hard. Honestly, unless you really need it now is not the time to buy.

Just got 500 9mm from Brownells @23 cents a round using AmmoSeek. I used to buy exclusively at Target Sports or SGammo but they recently IMHO are hiking the prices charging 34 cents a round. It’s more luck then anything else with AmmoSeek on when a decent deal comes up.
