Need to get a sling for an AR pistol. What do you use and why?

Getting something similar to an AR pistol and need to go to work on presentation and accuracy. I know that opinions are like the north end of a southbound mule. Will have a QD connection but I need to get to work quickly.

Real interested in a variety of opinions.

Thanks folks!

The truck gun has a single point with quick release. I find the best way, for me, to sling it is over the right shoulder and in front/under the left (diagonal across the body). A quick shift with the left hand and it's ready. Can be used by either hand, great for transition to/from pistol.

Found this while running a side IDPA match. Actually, a couple of us sort of stumbled upon it.

Thank you sir, is there a specific brand/model you're using?

I hang mine single point under my right arm when hunting but I do not typically carry a sidearm. I am just using a cheapie gunshow sling. I plan to try the crossbody carry that @rdinatal mentioned.

I use two point vickers sling on any AR.
I use an AR pistol in exactly the same way I use a carbine or rifle.

I’d only possibly use a single point on a subgun or something tiny.

I’ll just add to this one since it’s both AR pistol and sling related.

I’ve never run a sling on anything. But I’d like to get my ARs set up for one. I do have two single-point slings that I bought some time back, but have never used. I ordered a Magpul ASAP and a UTG mount. Both replace the rear plate on an AR and seem to be a logical place to attach a single-point sling.

So I counted up the number of mounts I need, as I generally like to equip the ARs the same when possible. I completely forgot the SBA3 has a built in QD point, but it’s way at the rear. I did a quick image search and found just a few running a single-point that far back, but it doesn’t appear to be common.

Is it possible to set a sling up at a length where it would hang from the rear and not be too low, while at the same time being loose enough to maneuver the firearm?

If not, I guess I have to decide if it want to run a 2-point on pistols or just ignore the SBA3 mount and add a plate to each one.

While this is on a SBR on the right, have a pistol similar at home. Standard USGI nylon sling, front sling attachment point is a KAC QD attached to the rail and rear along the stock. For a right hander, run the left arm thru the sling and over the head. Guns muzzle will be pointed to the low left, leaving right clear for pistol (strong side carry). Been using this set up basically since 88' with my XM177E1.

Single points are not the best unless you have a super short subgun. The sling is more than a way to carry the gun. You're supposed to get your support arm in there and create some tension to secure the firearm into the shooting position.
A good two point will have some form of qd system so you can escape from it should it snag. It should have the ability to lengthen easily so you can switch shoulders when shooting from positions behind cover.

The Vickers 2 point sling is a great one.

Blue Force Gear has a neat new wire loop attachment that is very versatile. It's the next evolution in sling attachment that removes noisy metal hooks from the sling and replaces as socket type attachments that can be failure prone.
Personally I only have one AR type gun and I have a Troy 2 point that dates back before we'd learn about their hiring of dirtbags. It remains a good sling so I continue to use it. It also taught me a hard lesson about taking a knee without addressing the position of the rifle. The muzzle hit dirt and the stock met my jaw so hard I saw stars. That memory is from and center every time I touch that sling.
