Charlie Daniel's dies at age 83. Lost a good 2a and freedom friend.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Country music firebrand and fiddler Charlie Daniels who had a hit with 'Devil Went Down to Georgia' has died at age 83.

A statement from his publicist said the Country Music Hall of Famer died Monday at a hospital in Hermitage, Tennessee, after doctors said he had a stroke.

Country Music legend Charlie Daniels, best known for his monster 1979 hit “The Devil Went Down to Georgia,” died Monday of a hemorrhagic stroke. He was 83.

Great music

Great concerts

RIP

Yup, 2020 sucks. I saw Charlie Daniels in Raleigh several years ago. He still had it. And he was not one of these liberal Hollywood country types.

Saw a biography of him years ago. He was very frank about his life, both good and bad. I was very impressed and wished I could meet him in person. The world lost a good man.

That's terrible. Another great one lost. Glad I had the chance to see him live.

Rip Mr Daniels.
You will be missed.

Another good one is gone.

Was fortunate to see CDB and Gary Morris in Fayetteville I believe late '80s. GREAT show. I have met the guy that taught Charlie how to play the guitar.
RIP sir.

I never missed a chance to see him play, he could rock a room like no one else. Got to see him at Gilley's a couple of times and he was in rare form in that venue. R.I.P. Mr. Daniels, you will be missed, thank you for everything you've left us. Your music and memories are unique and appreciated.

I just read that he was born here in Wilmington. I never would have guessed.
