So most know I’m a fireman. Was wanting y’all to lift two families up in your prayers. I was unfortunately on two separate calls Sunday where a 7 (medical issue)year old and a 6 year old ( drowning) needed cpr. Neither one made it through either. Please keep their families and those who run these calls in your prayers.

Tough on the families. Will definitely include these two kids in our prayers tonight.

I hate to hear that. My thoughts will be with those parents.

Incoming prayers.

Prayers for the families and friends of these children. Also prayers for you men and women who go on these calls.

I can't even tell you how many adult cardiac arrests I've worked, and except for a couple, they've all kind of gone in to the memory bank. The kids? I remember every single kid who's died in my 30 years.
Much shorter span of years, but me too. Thankfully, it hasn't been very many. I can still hear one's mom screaming in the waiting room when they told her.

@Zbizzle911 , don't be shy about talking to someone if you can't shake it. Prayers for you and the folks you work with.
Yeah they definitely stick with you. I have a 4 year old so it hits a bit closer to home. I guess the stars just aligned that I was on two separate ones within 14 hrs.

I know things like this can be tuff on you but remember one thing. How tuff would it be on those who need you if you weren't there??? That has to some how help to keep you going. At least I hope it does.

Hate that for the families, you, and the crews.
A bad call involving an adult is one thing, a bad call with a kid is a whole other level, two in a few hours is enough to make even the strongest person start questioning things.

There are few if any calls that involved adults that stick in my memory.... the ones with kids are there everyday.

Keep an eye on yourself and your people.
Don't be afraid to reach out and talk it out with someone.

@Zbizzle911 Very sorry to hear about those two terrible tragedies. That's got to be very tough being a first responder and having to take something like that in and dealing with it, especially when it involves children. My heart goes out to you sir.

I hate it for you to go through that, as well as the families

That sucks man prayers for both families for sure. I remember one weekend having two child related incidents one boy left in a car in July doa and a case of child abuse so bad the details still haunt me to this day. Prayers for them all man.

Praying for the families, your colleagues and you. Zach, thanks for what you do for all of us.

Thanks so much for not hardening. Be glad it still touches you. Nobody expects to outlive their children.

That’s one of the hardest things and I have noticed a bit of calcification on my end. But I try to not be so calloused it’s tough to not be though.

The guy across the street was an ER MD at High Point Regional. You may have encountered him. He also rolled with HPPD Swat.

I could never imagine how he was able to handle what he saw. :(

Only time I had to do CPR it didn't work. I was a beach guard at the time. Medics said my technique was correct (1980s so its change considerably now). Took a long time for me to stop beating myself up over that.

Dang bud, I hate for that you and your crew. I have been there, the kids will definitely stick with you. I can still see, hear, and smell almost everything that happened on those calls. You know I am always around to bounce stuff off of. Hug your loved ones tight every time you leave, you never know when it will be the last time you see them.

My son has had to cut down two toddlers from hanging in window blind strings. Both of those incidents still haunt him. Both kids were already dead when he got there. Hopefully you guys will deal with these events as best as you can. Thank you for the work that you do.

Isaiah 65:17

Behold I create a new heaven and a new earth and the former things won't come to mind.

When we see bad things in this world know that when we leave this world those memories won't be going with us. Hang your hope on this. Hang tight to it.
