The .gov want you easier to kill!

Because banning something makes it unobtainable by the criminal community.... riiiiggghhhht.... <_<

Makes me want to buy or obtain more. How terribly odd.

whoooaaahhh we're half way there...
already looking at "10-12 weeks"
Sales are through the roof and they keep coming out with great stuff. People are realizing that they actually do need this kind of stuff in reserve.

“(36) The term ‘enhanced body armor’ means body armor, including a helmet or shield, the ballistic resistance of which meets or exceeds the ballistic performance of Type III armor, determined using such standard as the National Institute of Justice has in effect at the time at which a person purchases, owns, or possesses such armor.”.

So, if it's never submitted for official testing, does it still meet or exceed? whose testing are they using?
If the manufacturer says it will only defeat M193 at 200 yards, does it still meet/exceed lvl III? what about m855 at 400 yards?

Thats always how it seems to work. Ammo, guns, the support gear for them.... its always grasshopper and the ant.

i know i know. i've had a tab for ar500 BOGO deal open since last week and i'm trying to talk myself out of it or delay until the sale is over and i can not have to worry about it again for a few months.
I should probably do something about the interceptor vest in my garage. it's not doing any good out there and the expiredness of it is worsening.

Didn’t watch the video...is there a bill going thru motions now or something?

The second amendment covers body armor?? I'd like to know how.....
We supposedly live in a free country and me owning body armor has zero effect on anyone else. So what I do with my time, money, body shouldn’t make a damn to anyone else including our all knowing government.

The GOOD news is your interceptor should be fine for a good while, even past its "expiration date" as the interceptor series never contained zylon. As long as it isnt tearing apart or left to rot. The BAD news is it will likely kill you in this heat and humidity :D

Someone want to explain to me how you regulate small rectangular coffee tables that also seem to stop .223 rounds?
Plenty of DIY sources out there confirming that ceramic tiles from Home Depot and/or fiberglass welding blankets from HF combined with epoxy will serve you well for IIIA up to III+, maybe IV, depending on construction.

That said, armor has gotten pretty cheap in recent years, thankfully.

@Tailhunter or anyone else looking at body armor.

If I were you I’d stay away from the steel plates. I picked up a set a while back and sold them after wearing them around the farm several times. They’d be ok of you needed something to wear for an hour or maybe if you were sitting and waiting. Otherwise they are much too heavy to wear around and be able to move quickly or keep moving for extended periods.

maybe I’m just that out of shape but after an hour or two my back was hurting pretty bad. Steel is cheap but I think spending a little more and saving weight would be worth it.

Because the Founders who wrote the 2A intended for the people to be as equally well armed and equipped as the tyrants we would have to fight.

Is says no such thing.... You may want to interpret it that way but that's not what it says....And the road to hell is paved with intentions...

Is it not already pretty common knowledge that if you're shooting at the police, aim for the head?

Only brand I run

https://www.shotstop.net

Body Armor is one of these topics that cheap is not the way to go. I like to know a product I fully trust. And I fully trust Shot Stop. Back in 2019 at the NCTOA I shot a the Duritium GT 30 times, a full mag at 15yds and not a single SS109 penetrated the plate. The plate is rated for 4 shots. But it held. I bought two right then. LOL

I'm not giving mine up... I have a number of sets and accessories. Bought legally. Come take them...

Personally, I am of the opinion that “arms”, referenced in Amendment II, is an all-inclusive term. I believe “arms” was meant to be broad; not only including weapons themselves, but ammunition, ancillary equipment or any other items that would assist in ensuring the citizenry could maintain/preserve the state of being free people.

If you look at Amendment X, same thing was done. It didn’t address specific powers, but stated those not delegated to the government by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states or to the people.
