I need heIp. I am in process of finalizing this week's gorcery order. I have ordered a whole chicken so, Jerk or Paprikash?

I have smoked pork in the freezer. Tamales or tacos?

Spouse is little help as he likes it all and will not commit. I could order all ingredients and allow for spoilage or narrow down without waste.

I truly need help here!

Tacos with tamales a close second.

The men on the forum will even out the voting to make your life easier! :D Right now it’s 1-1-1-0 (though CZfool says tacos, which would make it 1-1-1-1 if he voted).

So... As usual, men are absolutely no help!

I tell my wife, I can't cook so you cook it I'll eat it. conversation over. If you want feedback, I'll be happy to oblige.

With that said, Jerk and tacos.

Jerk for the chicken; tamales for the pork. Direct, no frills answers.

I should recuse myself... tacos are the only choice I have tried. And tamales, but I don't know who this Oaxacan person was.

Chicken tacos were not a choice. That said, you should try one when offered.

I would do street tacos with smoked pork. Super easy! Make some salsas like tomato, corn and tomatillo. A little cilantro and diced onion served in corn tortillas. You can serve it with rice.

For the whole chicken I would do a Peruvian chicken on the grill. The green sauce is amazing! I like to make it and serve it with a nice side salad. You can use the green sauce on the chicken and the salad!

Your killing me here!

I was trying to make it easier???

Meg, only thing I’ve had in that poll list is tacos. Apparently I’ve been missing out.

Jerk is awesome, and you cannot argue with tamales... it all sounds good. But Jerk and Tamales.

It's all Greek to me.

Good luck with your decision.

I was going to say jerk because it’s the only flavor I recognize. I’ve heard of paprikash but have no idea what it is.

None of the above, if it ain’t pan fried chicken it ain’t going to pass the test. The other stuff is a bunch of fancy words and words don’t cut it when it comes to mam’s cooking. Now throw in some cornbread, beans, onions properly chopped, mashed taters, a fresh from the bush fruit pie and all is well in the house I frequent.

We had fried chicken, biscuits, slaw, greens and peas last Sunday. Fried food is once/quarter for us old folks.

Then do take out. That's what I do on my night to cook. Lol

We only do take out on my 10 hour work days when I can't muster enough energy to heat a container of homemade soup from the freezer. Overpriced and inferior quality don't fly here.
