So I've looked at getting an AEM5. For owners in this forum how useful is this can? Considering that the majority of their popularity comes from MK12 cloning (which I don't own). Would you recommend buying one of these considering the attachment method? For reference I own 2x 30 cal cans a 45cal can, 9mm sub gun can, and have a 556 yhm turbo k in jail.

I own an original Ops Inc 12th that's essentially the same. If that counts, for what it's worth the attachment method makes them quite versatile, assuming your muzzle threads aren't too close to some other feature such as a gas port.

The Firearms blog did a metered review of the Allen Engineering cans not too long ago.

They are still among the best performing cans, even though their design hails from a couple decades back at this point.

I have an Ops Inc 15th model which is like an inch and a half or so shorter than the 12th model. Equivalent to the AEM3 today.
