Worth it and which one?

I shoot g19s with RMRs and usually 147 gr.

My best 5 shot groups are 2.5 - 3 inches freehand at 25 yards. Avg is closer to 3.5-4.0+

Thinking about grabbing a storm Lake just because it looks like a good deal but definitely don’t wanna sacrifice any reliability

Alpha Wolf are the best bang for your buck in my opinion. A step up from the regular Wolf barrels. They're reliable and affordable. Some of the other brands may be slightly more accurate but the tighter tolerance comes at the price of reliability.

I have an Alpha Wolf threaded barrel coming in for my gen 5 Glock 34, which should arrive tomorrow. I'll let you know how it goes, but based on the reviews, I'm expecting really good things. I'm going to be pairing it with a Tyrant Designs compensator, which should make the gun tremendously controllable. I was just delighted that they still had some barrels in stock, with current shortages.

For what it's worth, I bought direct from their website, and they shipped fast. Free shipping and no sales tax, because Idaho is awesome like that.

I ordered from them on Sunday, and tracking shows the package went to Seattle. Hopefully it doesn't get lost in the riots!

To the OP, I've used the older lone wolf barrels for caliber conversions, they worked fine. The order I just placed is my first alpha wolf barrel, we'll see how it works here in a few weeks.

What about custom fit BarSto barrels?
I had heard these were the bee’s knees...
Basically doubling the weapon’s accuracy at the cost of some performance....
Anyone have any date on them?

I had a storm lake on a glock 32 years ago and it worked great. Accuracy greatly improved for me. It was the extended and ported version so im guessing that helped me out. Ive also heard good things about bar sto although ive never shot one before. Good luck with your search.

Ive got a KKM .357 sig barrel in my model 24 and like it alot...bit of a wait time on those however. But it was worth it, I believe. Well made, well finished, and its not given me any function issues.

I keep toying with snagging an Alpha Wolf conversion barrel for my model 42, in 9mm makarov. Seems like it would make the 42 all it could be.

7 of the Lone Wolf barrels here. All threaded. 3 are conversion, 4 are not. Satisfied with all of them, but I’m a long way from resembling a bullseye shooter.

Some (maybe just one?) were even bought from Gemtech, but have the wolf logo.

Ha! I had that exact thought. I was grateful to see that it made it through the Seattle Containment Zone easily enough.

Those aren’t bad groups by any means, so unless you just need/want a threaded barrel or want to shoot lead, don’t have unrealistic expectations that a aftermarket barrels is going to close up your groups very much if any at all. A stock Glock barrel, especially the new Gen 5’s is more than capable.

that said, I do have a fluted Blacklist barrel in one of my 19s and it looks pretty cool, but I honestly didn’t notice any real improvement in accuracy.

Hey folks! I promised an update when I got, installed and shot with my Glock 34 with the Alpha Wolf threaded 19L/34 barrel and Tyrant Designs T-Comp. Here it is. :)

I love it! Balances the gun as a shooting platform nicely. Very flat with 115gr. Probably the same with 124gr but I haven't tried that yet. While there is still some muzzle rise, it's negligible and I absolutely was able to line shots up more quickly and keep my sight picture aligned for followup shots. I got a fantastic group with it at 7 and 10 yards (I would have switched to the 25yd range for more but I ran out of the ammo I rationed... I mean brought), and was able to bang the 10yd steel plates every time, even firing quickly and switching between targets. 9mm doesn't have much recoil to begin with, but the comp made it feel like firing a .22lr. The only drawback was I had my first stovepipe with my G34 today while in this setup. I hadn't shot a 9mm pistol in a while due to ammo scarcity, so my grip wasn't consistent at times. So while firing somewhat quickly it stovepiped on me in a failure-to-feed. I think that was mostly due to shooter error on my part. I got ahead of myself and was limpwristing it, causing the recoil of quick shots to cause the round to go upward and miss the chamber. So while it happened, it doesn't make me think it wasn't worth the price. It definitely is. In the hands of someone with a consistent, correct grip, the combination of Alpha Wolf barrel and Tyrant Designs T-Comp allows the shooter to stay on target, take more accurate shots with more precise groups, maintain sight picture, and transition to different targets more effectively. It just also seems to make the gun less forgiving in terms of shooter error, so be sure to commit to good form if you go that route. Which you should do anyway, but this likely makes doing so more imperative.

TLDR version: It's good. Very accurate, group size definitely shrank. Make sure you don't limpwrist it or it might stovepipe.

I may be in the minority here... I took a chance on a couple of threaded 40->9 conversion barrels from Bear Creek Arsenal Using them in my G23 and G22, they’ve both run flawlessly using the .40 extractors. Same reliability with Glock and ETS mags.

At $40 per barrel, I’m thrilled with their performance!

more than likely has nothing to do with your grip. Comps are notorious for stovepiping with standard pressure 115gr. Use some hotter 124gr, like the Winchester NATO stuff and it will more than likely fix the problem.

Good to know. Thanks a bunch! I've got plenty of 124gr, so I'll bring some of that out next.

Lone Wolf Alpha barrel in a G21. Sent it back to have the chamber reamed a bit deeper. Very pleased it with. Pleased with a Storm Lake barrel in a G23. More chamber support. And, a Bear Creek, 9mm conversion barrel for the G23.

I was getting ready to post a question about Glock barrels and i I found this thread.

Wondering if any of the companies that make aftermarket Glock barrels actually market them as service/duty grade instead of match grade?

It seams like when I read about them they almost all say "match grade" I can't tell the difference between "just marketing" and "race gun" parts. My only experience with match grade barrels has been with 10/22's and those have always had major potential for poor reliability.

I'm interested in threaded barrels but don't want to sacrifice reliability. Not super concerned about accuracy.
