Phase 2 for 5 more weeks in NC

So you think this is a win???

DS

Not at all. I was trying to convey that I didn’t think it was a lock that we stayed in Phase 2.

Here is a little tidbit of information collected from data on NC's COVID-19 website.

On average, COVID-19 admissions within the previous 24 hours are running close to half of all COVID-19 hospitalizations.
Think about that: nearly half of COVID-19 hospitalizations are admitted one day and are discharged the next day.
Even more surprising is that, on average, three-fourths of the daily admissions are suspected cases and only one-fourth are lab-confirmed cases.

Call me cynical, but this data makes me wonder about the government's payments to hospitals for COVID-19 admissions.

How would you like to own a fitness center? One month could lead to bankruptcy. 6 months? There is a fitness center here that shutdown for one month in all these Cooper declarations. Not one word has been said to them and everyone knows they have been open. Good for them.

I can’t keep track, phase 2 means retail only stocks LPP and LRP, limits sales to 1 brick, and priced at 1.5x the highest price charged online in June?

There are three cross fit gyms that I test drive vehicles by on the regular. They have been open during this crap, parking cars out front, on the side and behind. No one has seemed to have complained, nor attempted to shut them down.

I talked someone today that doesn't believe that Cooper's decisions on C-19 are based on politics....
She believes 100% that he's only interested in everyone's health.
She's apparently, an idiot.

I was expecting another two weeks not five, what an idiot he is.
Still no beer sales after 11 PM, even Circle K won't sell beer after 11, same for Sheetz. NUTS.

And why would that be? It’s not like they are sitting at a Sheetz bar.
I asked and they told me they are considered a restaurant, she can't argue with corporate. ;)
As pointed out in another thread gas stations and convenience stores are exempt from the sale restriction.

Plain stupid if there is no seating. Corporate must not be interested in late night sales to go along with that.

Eventually people are just going to do what ever the hell they want despite all the petty tyrants. Stand up live your life how you want.

My problem is that I believe in property rights. So if a store says masks I do masks. But if all the stores are pressured into mask policies then what do you do? Store owners are threatened by local PD. They are not always willing participants.

Agree. Wife and I have not worn masks to any store or restaurant. Had a few problems and left. Only forced to wear at work.

The masses have got to stop wearing them. NOW. Or will be forever chained.

The masses won’t stop. That much has been proven. Be prepared to be an outlier with a small group of friends. I got looks at Qdoba today even though they had no signs. I had one in my pocket if they required it.

I am so sick of all of this. We must get this fool of a Gov out of office in Nov. He wants to turn us just like they did in VA but we cannot allow that to happen

I’ve yet to wear a mask anywhere. If anyone were to ask I would just leave and not return. I don’t shame people for wearing mask and I expect the same.

No, no, no! Cooper said "trends have leveled off" and he had to act quickly to lock in the restrictions before downtrends became too obvious and all of the requirements to lift restrictions had been met.

Serious question - you have a doctor appointment to cut two growths out of your arm and back to be tested to see if they are cancer. Doctor requires you to wear a mask. Do you put it off, or wear the mask to get it taken care of.

Second question - you've pulled a muscle in your back and need to see your chiropractor. When you get there, he has a mask required sign up. Your back is really hurting. Do you wear the mask and get relief, or go home and hurt and it keep you out of work?

Both things happened to me. I decided to wear a mask in both cases, though my chiropractor told me I could take it off when I got in his office. He said he didn't want to get shut down if a customer complained to the state board. His greatest concern with being shut down was his employees being out of work. He is a great guy and very like-minded to many of us here. Doctor is a great guy, too, but has drunk a bit too much of the COVID kool-aid. Though, he has been willing to be challenged on it during discussion - like when he was cutting on me. Listened and responded respectfully to my comments. I listened and responded respectfully to his.

These are the only two times I've worn a mask. Didn't like it either time, but figured those instances were important enough for my health to do it. Just curious your take if faced with those scenarios.

Need to get past the fear. Daughter suggested some ideas, flash mobs showing up at stores. Mask burnings. Strikes at work -- Across NC. Hoping the young start to rebel, I hear more and more of them complaining, and many switched from libs to Trump. This state is more oppressed from Cooper than others, that's a shoe in.

There are ways to protest and get word out by groups and friends . . . have to organize. Should be done NOW.
