So we s0ld our old camper and upgraded. For now, this is going to be our full time home until we get our forever home built. Of course pulling a 10K lb 5th wheel required a tow vehicle so we got a 2019 diesel Titan XD crew cab. First trip is out West before we come home and start living full time on our property.

Also on the list: a 20ft 1-trip Conex container with doors on both ends, and probably a nice 10x24 outbuilding which will double as the laundry room.

@Ikarus1 , Good for y'all, and you''ll really enjoy and appreciate the new place.

Black hitch? sumbitch matches perfectly

Curt A20 with the factory Nissan ready setup. Not cheap but worth every penny. Hitch will tow 2x what the 5ver weighs

Pretty cool! My parents had a house fire 5 or so years ago. Lived in a 33 foot camper for almost a year while their house was rebuilt. By the end they were ready to be out of the camper. Props to you for downsizing and getting rid of “stuff”

my buddy, his wife and their 3 kids stayed in a camper while they built their house. His words were "40' of hell"

good luck and enjoy.

my 3 kids are 21 19 and 15. I'll make their life hell if they want it, but one doesn't live with us and the other is on the way off the teat as well. So that leaves us with a 15 year old in virtual high school, 11 acres of his own little backyard to roam (he's an avid outdoorsman) and soon to get his license.

We weren't about to miss this seller's market for our home and cash in on our investment ;)

Also helps that I'm taking the 2 boys on a 3 week vacation which is a family first.

If NC keeps making it rediculously complicated for a homeowner to pull his own building permits, we might just be pulling our taxbase and moving the eff out of this stupid purple state forever.

his kids are 16, 13, 10. a little different situation, plus they had a bull dog and got a 2nd during the process. They got their's built in 5 months plus they were beside the wife's parents.

I have heard it's difficult for a individual to pull a permit these days, but I haven't had to do it plus if I did, I have my GC license since 2002. Never used them though.

We are having a moving out sale this Friday and Saturday since we have to be out by next week and I don't need all this stuff weighing us down and taking up precious limited storage. Besides it's all replaceable.

If anyone is local to Locust / Midland /Mint Hill drop by and say hello. PM me for the address which is right off Hwy 24-27 near the Rocky River. And I am contemplating selling some firearms which is very unlike me.

I keep trying to tell my wife we should sell our house. We’ve only been in it about 4.5 years but we would make a killing. This school district (although rural) is on fire and progress is coming this way. Gotta get out before it’s TOO busy and no one wants the land anymore

Only advice i have is become more organized. Which my wife is and i struggle with every day....but I am the "idea man" lmao

I’ve got a 43 footer that sits in Linville. I’ve built a roof over it to protect it from the rough elements up there. I’ve tried to get my wife to take it on trips but she’s just not interested enough to do it. She’d rather stay in a hotel, me, I’d rather sleep in my own bed! It it weighs 20k so she’s not the easiest to tow.

Very nice. What do you tow it with when you do?

My wife and I are looking for property in the West Jeff area to do something similar. Smaller camper for sure though.

That's what I'm doing with the small camper I just bought. Putting it on my property in Laurel Springs. Got a call from the Co-op this morning that they got the meter and power to my service pole yesterday, so now I have power.

Going up tomorrow to check and see how muddy it is. If it looks good, I'll probably take it up first of the week. I also have a guy going to put stone on my driveway so I can get out.

I take the camper off and have a hitch that pops into factory holes. 6.7 diesel, and she’ll pull the house off the foundation!
Hell yea....

The factory puck system hitch is the way to go. One of the main reasons i bought the truck...well that and the 100K bumper to bumper warranty

Tackling the gate posts this week after 2 uninvited guests that could not read posted and painted property showed up this week.
13ft x 22" cedar posts buried 3ft deep should last a while

@Ikarus1 how do you like the Titan?
Love it. Family loves it more than I do. I Couldn't have bought more truck for the money IMO.

The roadmaster suspension was worth every penny as it helped tremendously with the trailer and helped without it in the twisties
