I purchased a dillon universal decapping pin. So after a few hundred round I hear a crunch. Oh that’s not good. Dillon does not cover them. So next best think. Make one. Before and after.

Man that thing is mangled, what in the world did you try to decap?
I've been using one for years and never had it fail to defeat any primer it's encountered.

A Dillon part and Dillion doesn't cover it under warranty?? That POS would be in the garbage can before the sun went down.....

I finally bent an entire decapping assembly in my RCBS 9mm die recently after probably 10-15000 decaps

I had spare pins but not an entire assembly. Ordered two extra and one in 223 to be safe. I could’ve scavenged from another die set I had but I would’ve eventually forgotten and then been short on two sets if it happened again

I never heard of a Dillion part that Dillion does not cover under warranty. You sure about that?

I sent them an email asking about that. They said nope not covered.

I don’t know how many cases that was used on. It was used when I got it. I was just humming along then all of a sudden snap.

I guess the company is taking a new direction since the passing Mike Dillon.

I don't understand people on here thinking Dillon should cover this.

Decapping pins are wear items, and it broke due to misuse. It would be like expecting Dillon to warranty-cover corncob media if you got it wet.

oh I know. It’s something that can break easy. And I didn’t expect them to replace it. But doesn’t hurt to ask. Plus now I have plenty of threaded rod to make more.

That's not warranty when they cover parts like that. It is called customer service. Seen it many times.

Dropped my motorcycle helmet( modular) and the guy at the dealership said I couldn't get the part to fix it and would have to ship it to CA. to get it fixed. Emailed the company and told the guy what I needed and he said no problem. Told him up front that I dropped and broke it and it was not a warranty issue. Verified what part I wanted and I even asked about buying a new face shield. He not only sent the part I needed but sent extras and a new face shield all at no charge.

Wife and daughter got me a Golden Boy for Christmas one year and when I opened the box the magazine tube was missing. Went back to the store and no one could find it so they gave me one out of a regular henry. Tried it and thought it worked but then found out it left one round in the gun. Thinking it was too short I measured and emailed Henry and asked for the measurement for the correct tube. Also inquired about buying a large loop lever for it since I have big hands. Guy said he would send the correct one just to be sure and also sent the lever at no charge. Once again not a warranty issue(cause I am pretty sure someone at the store lost the tube) but once again top notch customer service kicked in.

@Schattenreiter my buddy has a Henry 22 he purchased and it was not feeding correctly. He sent it to them got it back same issue. He sent it in again got it back and was amazed on what they did. They took it all apart polished it all up. It looked absolutely beautiful. He almost hated to shoot it. But it worked great after that.

I bought a RCBS press from the classified here that was made in 1968. I called them and told them I need some parts. I got several items free because of their lifetime warranty. Some I had to pay for like primer tubes but they helped get that press back in working order.

I can tell you that Lee covers decapping pins and that's why I use the lee universal decapper before wet tumbling. I have a head set up for my Dillon 650 for just decapping

Last time I got some of the primer tube tips which they sent free, I ask for a few new pins and got 5 thrown in at no charge too. I was willing to pay for both. I have found with Dillon, its best to call and talk to the service guys. You send an email and I think they are answered by sales and it takes several days. Just call them up and they have always taken great care of me.
