PSA Buys Remington Ammo

Not a completely factual article. They are basically the "Stalking Horse" for bids under the bankruptcy. Until all bids have been submitted and reviewed by the Judge in the bankruptcy case, no sale will take place. So ammo may go to a separate bidder, but someone could still come in with a high enough bid to take the whole company. Just a wait and see game at this point.

Wow, that would be awesome to see PSA own an ammo mfg! As someone interested in business, it will be interesting to see what they do with the brand, how they try to position it in the market, if Rem will still have a large retail presence, of PSA tries to piggy back those relationships and get PSA product in retail, and how they change Rem products.

With the experience I've had with PSA shipping you better order your ammo a year or so before you want it
I've had great experiences with them. I always get my ammo order delivered in about 2 days, well except in the last few months...lol.

Remington has a large ammo facility in Huntsville, AL that was an idle Chrysler plant. Edit: manufacturing not ammunition.

No ammo is produced in HSV. The ballistics lab is there and the equipment in the ballistics lab was included as part of the bid. All ammo is still produced in Lonoke AR. The DPMS, Bushmaster brands were built in Huntsville, along with the Marlin rimfires, 783 and pistol lines. AAC products are also manufactured there.

Thanks I stand corrected.

They should treat you as a VIP, you've gone through over 2K rounds of 9mm. ;)

Ammo is definitely the business you want to be entering.

Whatchu talkin' bout, Willis?
I've been thru a lot more than that! I have that much in my possession as we speak! Lol.
And yes, I should be a VIP.....I'll send them an email directly.
Fat fingered it again.....9K rounds not 2K rounds of 9mm. :)

I no understand the bankruptcy. If you can't make money selling ammo today, what the heck are you doing?
I think the constant pressure from lawsuits didn't help one bit. There's also the possibility that bankruptcy is a strategy to de-fang some lawsuits as well. The whole industry is at risk if the anti-gunners get a win suing a manufacturer.

Guys, PSA has not bought the ammo division yet.

What they did was submit (and was chosen by Remington/Cerebus) to be the Stalking Horse Bid. This is the First Bid for Assets/Divisions of a Bankrupt company that literally sets the Minimum Bid Price for the other suitors.

There are many other bids that have been submitted, but have not been made public.

From my understanding, the Ammo Division will include Barnes, Facilities in UTAH and Arkansas; but, it will also contain outstanding Liabilities. Typically, normal people would sell something to pay off debt, but in Corporate Acq/Div you are able to secure a price and not just transfer Assets but the Liabilities as well.

It will be interesting to see what Liabilities Remington (Cerebrus) is able to offload in this deal whomever it goes too.

At least, the group that secures a deal will have hurdles to reach to make this profitable which means production, R&D and supply so that the Acquisition Price and Liabilities can be paid off and a Return on Investment is realized.

I couldn’t read your article as I don’t subscribe to WSJ, but I read elsewhere it was one of many offers, and the deal had not been made. Is this a new development?
PSA posted this yesterday:

Please see the "update" at the bottom of the article. It states:

"UPDATE: The Wall Street Journal report on which this post was based was premature. JJE Capital Holdings has put in a bid for Remington’s ammunition business. However we’ve spoken to Remington and the JJE bid is one of a number that have been received, both for Remington as a whole and for individual business lines. Most haven’t been made public yet. The bankruptcy court has until September 17th to accumulate all bids and then will finalize the sale(s) on September 24th."

the article mentioned is this one: https://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/r...ness-including-barnes-bullets-for-65-million/

That's more like it!!
The RIA alone might have that many rounds, or near to it. Then there were the 2 Glocks, and now the CZ.....lotsa 9mm shooting by me....

How the hell could you do that buying 3 targets and 50 rounds at a time?

Nope. Sorry.... we’ll have to wait (maybe a while) for public deetz.
Excuse my ignorance but are you speculating or saying you know but can’t share any further. If the latter, I understand.
