Three to four million people per month have been voting against gun control with their personal firearms purchases. And much of the increase comes from supposedly true-blue states.

Biden can pander to his base, but it may not sell well to average Americans today.

This was supposedly in response to the shooting of the 2 LA County Deputies ... he refers to “weapons of war” or “assault weapons” ... which appear to have been shoot with a handgun not an assault weapon or other weapon of war ... and I’d lay money on it being a handgun of questionable origin that gun control BS would not likely keep from the hands of POS’s like that shooter.

Undoubtedly, but as the saying goes, never let a crisis go to waste or in this case a chance to push the narrative. Somebody must have forgotten how many NEW first time gun owners have bought guns because of the Dimmorhoid policies and support of riots.

Got a text message yesterday. I don't think they were in the mood to tolerate anything that wasn't Left.

You can lead a fool to knowledge, but you can't make him think.

surveys say that new gun-owners still support biden more than trump
then again, we saw how the surveys/polls didn't account for the "shy tories" in 2016

Good reply but most likely went over Matt’s head.

yeah, they're rolling out all sorts of volunteers. I had a high school girl call and try to talk to me about getting more dems in govt - one in particular, naturally. but she had no knowledge of the actual candidate, the stances, and lead with feelings instead of laws. I just hung up because you can't reason with an emotional teenager.

I wonder if that number is still valid? I have some down time today...
Hint, hint ;)

Good to know that in the face of country-wide protests against police, that he will be taking weapons of war away from officers. For our communities.

On a serious note, I don't understand this move politically. It doesn't seem like the candidate who is 7.5 points ahead would gain much by pushing an agenda that is most popular in places where he is already strong.

Does his campaign question the poll numbers?
Is this a hot-button issue in a particular swing state that he is trying to lock down?

I don't get the appeal of making this move.

But trump Bad must vote for anyone else !!!!!!!!!!!! even if it means Biden gets elected !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They were for the violence, until it started showing up as a problem in the focus groups, then they denounced it and the media downplayed it further. Perhaps now their pearl clutching focus group was shocked at the 'latest violence' and 'something must be done!' and the only thing on deck was the tried and true weapons of war pitch. The focus groups can probably follow that one-line solution.

But unlike our current leader yall love so much, Biden would go through congress ( which would lead to stalling & lets be honest, nothing being done).

But our fearless supreme leader...I mean president...says "take the guns first, due process later".

Haha! That's exactly what many Republicans were saying about Trump and Hillary 4 years ago.

I voted for Trump, but I would have rather voted for ANY other Republican. The important thing was that anyone was better than Hillary...

As far as Biden's remarks on "weapons of war", he made the statement on the left coast last fall, that 9mm handguns were a weapon of war and should be banned from public access.

Should give us their phone number and we can all blow up their phone.

It's just some volunteer working for the Dems. Probably a poor college student. Blowing up their phone would only make them think worse of Repubs in general.

I, for one, am completely shocked that he has taken such a stance considering all that he has said in the past about the matter, as well as the stance of his party, his handlers, and his vice presidential pick. Absolutely shocked I say.

“We need to ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines.”

Except for my personal praetorian guard and those of my sycophants and cronies (aka high-paying donors and those with SES ratings). ;);););););););););););););););)
There is a video clip where he defines these as anything that can hold more than 3 rounds and is not specifically intended for hunting.
No pistols, no revolvers.
Just bolt action, breach load, or muzzle loaders.
Same definition Bernie the commie Sanders.

March 1st through August 31st, there were 112,250 NICS transactions EVERY DAY...

That’s over 20 MILLION gun purchases in a span of 6 months. That 20 mil does not include private transactions or those not requiring a NICS check (CCP)...and part of that 20 million, no doubt, included multiple firearms on the same 4473, which only counts as one transaction for data-keeping purposes.

Private ownership of firearms isn’t going anywhere...but up.

The American citizenry is the largest armed force on earth and I do not see that changing anytime soon, for any reason. 100 million armed folks...hell, even just 1% of that (1 mil) can pretty much do whatever they want.

Y’all do realize he classifies handguns as weapons of war as well and will try to ban them also BUT won’t come out and say that

When the state of Maryland was drawing up their AW ban in 2013, I recall some of their lawyers writing documents that the Glock handgun met all their criteria of an assault weapon.

This is news? Really?

Biden stated that Beto would be his “Gun Czar” months ago. This was right after all of the other potential DNC nominees started withdrawing and Biden had sealed the DNC nomination.

WTH does anyone think will be his position on guns, any guns? I’m baffled.
