I have 2 different humidors that I can not keep the humidity at 70%. It seems like every 10 days to 2 weeks I adding solvent to the humidors. I am thinking about treating the redwood inside with the solvent.

Dont treat the wood. What are you using now?

Not sure what you expect... thats how they work isnt it?

Propylene glycol does not evaporate, but water does. If you keep topping off From the bottle eventually you will have mixture very heavy on PG and not much water, so your RH level wont hold up for long. I initially filled with the bottled mix one time but I top off with distilled water only. most of the PG I poured in initially is still there, in theory. Mine goes about a month this way.

I recommend you purge whatever system you have, start over with a fresh fill from the bottle and only refill with distilled water to maintain.

Agree on the refills with distilled water after the initial pro glycol fill. I have the jars with the gel in them they seem to hold very well for quite some time without going in and out alot. If I am in my box frequently it only lasts about a month.

I have a larger humidor and run a Cigar Oasis.

Echoing what others said, do not treat the wood in any way.

I googled it and it doesn't seem to exist. So here's your million dollar idea (I want 10%).

The Monica Lewinski Humidor.
