Just heard Bill Spoon is closing Spoon’s BBQ in Charlotte after 60 years of business..

I always liked that place, very friendly people there. Sad to see them go.

Wow, everything IS coming to an end. Loved Spoon's. Do you know a closing date?

When I was growing up in Charlotte this is where I got introduced to eastern NC style barbecue. At least that’s how I remember it. I’ve been gone from there for forty years.

Too bad. Thought I might squeeze in a last supper.

Can't do Facebook by the way. I was somehow banned some time ago and I never bothered to find out why.
They banned everybody today who doesn’t have an account. You cannot look at any Facebook page unless you’re a member now.
I had to borrow somebody’s phone that had Facebook to get the link. LOL

That explains why I had to log in to see it. I closed my account (but it is still there of course) years ago, till I discovered that all the small businesses and restaurants I frequent update their FB pages way before their websites, so if I want to know if they are open, especially dining rooms, I look at FB, but I didn’t have to log in until today.

Been so long since Ive been on FB, I couldnt remember my password if you put a gun to my head. Id be a memory lol

Been a minute since Ive had the BBQ at Spoons since Im not exactly local. I remember a friendly little joint with pretty good Q. Gonna be missed by the locals

Thats a bummer. One of our older (than me) gents at work took me there a few months back. It was a great little spot.

I had a pretty cool professor at UNC Charlotte who did a study on the correlation of vinegar based BBQ joints and then serving sweet tea instead of just unsweet.

He said Spoons was his favorite after traveling the east coast for "slow cooked swine."
