What are you drinking?

Ol' Johnny Red.
Ive been consuming more Scotch than bourbon these days. Not sure what that says about the balance of the universe....

I did not remember that J.T.S Brown was what Paul Newman (as Fast Eddy Felson) drank in "The Hustler":

Popped the top on this one tonight. The jury is still out. Not bad, but overpriced for what it is, I think. It has a strong licorice note in there that kinda tastes like Ballistol.

Great breeze. Temp in low 80s. Had to step outside for a pour of Plantation rum, fired up a Montecristo and listening to Red White and Booze.

Since moving to Indiana I have done the unthinkable and switched my house brand---My beloved Evan Williams BIB has been replaced by Very Old Barton 100 proof. Really taken a shine to it and for $12/fifth it is IMHO the bargain of the century..

I just have to ask on what occasion you were desperate enough to drink Ballistol?

I had low dating standards in college coupled with a distinct lack of beer funds. But I did have a bitchin firearms cleaning kit. Not only does it lower your inhibitions, it also cleans AND lubes...

Tonight its some budget tasting with some EW BIB. Grabbed that and some OG BIB. Still have half a bottle of Blanton's and 1/4 bottle of 1920. Would grab the Blantons again at MSRP if I see it, will absolutely buy several of the 1920s. Will be looking at grabbing the rest of the OF offerings to try them as well, have heard good things of their 1897 (?) BIB and 1910.

Tried something a little diffrent Made in NC and friend raises the grain used. Not to bad

I brought a bottle of Breckenridge Distillery Reserve Blend home with me that I might get into later. Every Old Fashioned I've had made with their whiskies was stellar, so I'm hopeful it'll be tasty.

I wish that I could say that I had the whole bottle but it was brought to me by my son that does not drink scotch. I think that his FIL left it there. When it got to me there was about a pour and a halt left in the bottle. First time having Aberlour 18. I do have a new bottle of maybe 12 or 14 in the cabinet.
It was worth drinking. Hope the younger bottle is as good.

Today's my day off. Been on a break for a bit but picked up a bottle of Ole Forster Bonded 100 Proof while I worked in the garrage. Way better than the normal 86 proof Forster. Nice and smooth for a $24 a fifth bourbon.
