Your latest alcohol purchase

Not getting anything really special but picked up 3 today. Never had the Bradshaw Bourbon (103.8 proof). I like buying gift packs and saw the Bulleit while in the check out line. Wish they were copper cups. My son said that he was not able to find any Eagle Rare in Atlanta so I guess that bottle will be going up there.

Nice set! Eagle Rare was in every store around here last week. I have not looked this week.

I asked a local package shop to get me a bottle of Foursquare rum knowing nothing about them. Got a phone call saying they had 3 bottles of the 2008. Asked if they would hold it until I get back in town. No problem. Most of their rums is 40 to 50ish dollars. This happen to be a limited production and was $87. That is the most I every spent on a bottle of rum. Looked at the proof and it is 120 proof. Did a Google search on the rum to see if I got ripped off and that is the going rate. This might be interesting.

Product description

A buddy suggested the Virgin as a decent cheap bottle, so I figured I would try it. I picked up the Port Charlotte out of curiosity, as I have not tried a "Heavily Peated" single malt.

I also scored a couple more bottles of J.T.S. Brown Bottled in Bond yesterday. I think it is my new favorite $13 screw cap.

I had a free shot of this courtesy the bartender at Vicious Fishes in Fuquay and thought it must be some well aged and expensive offering from Jameson. It is wonderful, and almost cheap. $27

A couple of weeks a go I did a side by side with the 12 Year Old ($60) and the 15 Year Old ($100).

I preferred the 12 Year old. I am on my second bottle of it and have a third on standby. I am not prepared to buy the 15 again.

BUT, I need to try both when it is colder outside. I am a little like @KnotRight when I say that sometimes in the summer my pallet is a little "suspect" when it comes to the 100 proof on up. I often have a different opinion in cold weather. I don't regret buyin the 15 Year, but I'm not ready to buy another yet. But I do love the 12.

Went to Fuquay today and found a nice handgun but no joy in the ABC store there

I have gotten into drinking some rum over ice. Krackin is not expensive but a good pour. For a few dollars more the Papa's Pilar is a great pour with a cigar. Had a pour of Col. Taylor tonight and really did not enjoy it as much as the Krackin that I had last night. And I love the Col.

This is gonna be an adventure, I think...

I am curious how these are gonna turn out.

The local finally got some more Buffalo Trace.

I’ve got 4 bottle of this. Almost lost one this week. I left it in the Jeep and with the heat the cork started to work out of it. Leaked just a bit but I got it back down to my bar and put away.

You bad, bad man.
Drop that bottle at my house for safe keeping then go sit in the corner and think about what youve done :D

Just picked this up today:

You're speaking my language there. I love cold brew, Starbucks (I know) has bourbon barrel aged cold brew beans and they make delicious coffee.

I also have bourbon maple syrup that is great. They are spot on there.

The VOB is getting easier to find around here. I've seen it in Red Springs and in Lumberton lately...... Too bad I didn't care for it much.

It is still hard for me to find VOB around here. Seems like whenever I ask, they just had it yesterday or last week. I like it, but my brother loves it. It is his favorite cheap pour. I will probably end up giving this bottle to him.

I have not tried the Old Grandad BIB yet, but hear it is good. I also picked these up this week to add to the collection, along with a couple of bottles of Buffalo Trace. I did not know that Sazerac was also a Buffalo Trace product.

Couldn't make up my mind so I thought I'd try something I'd never usually get.

First impressions are good, the sweetness and caramel doesn't overwhelm everything else like it usually does. I approve and I'm very hit and miss with sweet booze.

I was curious about that one. With it being an NC non-bourbon product, with no age statement and a very low proof, I assumed it would taste like rubbing alcohol and cough syrup. Good to know it is drinkable at least.

It's only a couple years but it's smooth
