Might do a VERY quick trip down and back to Sunset on Saturday
What's in the area, any members down that way?
Good restaurants?
Places to avoid?

Go to iron trader's gun store
If you like seafood
Seafood hut, ella's of calabash and sugar shack.
Docks at calabash are cool to walk down to when the fishing boats come in.
Sea turtle hatch may still be going on

Purple Onion in Shallotte is good for lunch but not seafood. Inlet View in Shallotte is good for seafood. We avoid Holden, Ocean Isle, Myrtle Beach. If you want to cook, there is a seafood market under Crabby Oddwaters there at the flyover bridge to Sunset. We go to Sunset every year. Watch your speed in town and coming off the bridge on to the island. Speed traps. There is probably some sort of match at Anthill range on Sunday. There is probably something going on at Low Country range if it's still there and still using that name. Only thing is its in a swamp and very snakey.

Pffffttt. Ella's was always my favorite when we lived there. They don't have the primo real estate of the guys down on the water, but the food makes up for it.

Some times you get good food on the water some times not. I find that most places not on the water have to work a little harder to compete with those on the water and therefore have better food or service. ;)

Gravy between SB and Calabash is the best kept secret down that way. Great home cooking and even better shrimp and flounder. Go early. Also Pizzellis on 17 in Little River has great Italian. They usually have seafood dishes on their daily specials and their pizza is pretty damn good too.
