Curious if anyone had a recommendation for a leather pouch that would fit a box of shotgun shells.
Not just a big open pouch, but something formed to fit the box really well/snug

Check the skeet and trap shooters vendors as well as the leather goods purveyors. Also think about @chiefjason, that man can make anything out of leather. HE would be your best bet since you need a "one off"....

which of our vendors are skeet and trap specific?

I look forward to hearing about that @chiefjason has to say too!

It's been on my list of things I want to learn to do. I cobbled together a couple for myself that are nothing worth showing but held a box of shells. I'll see if I still have the pattern. The pattern was solid. I just riveted them together and left the edges rough, didn't even bother to try and fancy them up. I really want to make one of the larger pouches for myself.

Look at the single box pouches. Mostly used by trap guys who like to keep counts by fives on each station.

Id love to see the ones youve already made. I dont have to have pretty, just functional!

Midway USA and Brownell's have a selection of single box pouches for shotshells. The problem I've seen with these is that they work fine if you never sit down. The club I belong to doesn't allow cars/trucks on the sporting clays course. You rent a golf cart. Shot the course with a guy that had a single box pouch. At the first stand he torn off the top of the box and dropped it in the pouch. First bump we hit with the cart on the way to the second stand had shells rolling all over the cart. At the second stand he swapped for a box with the top on it. That didn't last 2 stations with him trying to close the box after shooting. They work fine for skeet and trap where you walk... what, 10 feet to the next station.
On Ebay I found a "tactical" type dump pouch with a open top for about $8. Turned out to be the perfect size. Deep enough for a box of 25 and nothing falls out when I sit with a opening just right to reach in and grab 2 shells. I may not be very stylish but I've got function down!
