I have had my motorcycle license since 1982. Though I have only owned motorcycles for e few of those intervening years.
My last bike a 2009 Buell XB12Ss. That was the best ride I have owned.
Sold that in 2011 to fund building my 2010 Rubicon. Plus, degenerative osteoarthritis made it painful to ride more than 30 minutes.
I've tried to fool myself into thinking a fat seat cruiser would be good. But I have come to accept that I have to hang up the helmet for good and stop obsessing over what motorcycle to buy.
So, I'll just have to buy another Wrangler to build. Soft top. So at least with top and doors off I can come close to an open road feeling. And buy the time the budget is ready for it, Poison Spyder Customs should have the flares released to production.

I sold my last scooter (85 HD) in ‘89. I thought about getting my pilots license a few years ago...
Until I read several months worth of AOPA magazine, and realized if there is an IQ requirement I probably don't meet it.

Dude, we don't quit riding 'cos we get old, we get old 'cos we quit riding. Look around for a low-mileage cruiser or standard & take it for a spin. There's lots of 'em out there for short dollars.

I'd gone almost 6 years without a bike when I bought my '02 Super Glide in '13. By the time I'd ridden it home, I knew I could not be without a motorcycle ever again. I don't get to ride as much or as often as I'd like, but sometimes there's nothing like a healthy dose of wind therapy to blow out all the bullshit & make things right.

FWIW, I've got arthritis & degenerative disk disease the length of my spinal column, with bulging disks at L5/S1 & C6/C7 just to make things interesting. There are days when simply walking to the bathroom is a Herculean effort. I will ride my bike till I can't hold it up anymore, whereupon I'll put a sidecar on it & start bringin' my dogs with me.

I have lower back, knee, and hip problems but I badly want a Ural with a sidecar.

Had a license since 76. Been doing the Wrangler thing serious since 09. Risk/reward was my final decision.

Love Uwharrie. I bought the 2010 because because Daniel was costing me too much in my 93 YJ. Broke the diff carrier,Ford 8.8 LS with lunch box locker. $1k to replace it with a Detroit locker, then a drive shaft. :D
I've posted some of the videos here. How to park a jeep. How to park a jeep part 2. Ha!

Planning to sell my husbands bike and mine next year. It's going to break my heart, but too many people out on the roads trying to kill me kinda got my attention. Riding alone has it's disadvantages. The compromise will be a Can-Am Spyder!

The Spyder was actually a stolen idea. The company hadn't even started the development until a guy from lowell went to their snow mobile division with his patented kit design for converting a snow mobile to a 3 wheel for road use during the summer.

Like this guy from NC?

Yup. I met up with him in Sanford and got a basic lesson in kiting, which is the first step. His name is Tony, You learn to control the parachute or kite on the ground as a pendulum to where it is second nature before you fly it. I understand that if you do this, flying is easy. My wife is ok with me learning this as long as I’m smart about it. My parents, well they were not impressed.

I cant imagine not riding.
Did a hundred miles or so today.
It's scary, no doubt, too many distractions for people, I worry.
But the free feeling...nothing like it. Including a convertible sports car or jeep. Just not the same.

It's not the same, just like three wheelers are not the same as a bike.

I've test driven the Spyder three times and, given there is a third wheel (yes I will miss my 2), I prefer it than not riding at all. Kind of like Harley riders and sport bike riders or like guns and calibers, to each there own. There are reasons obviously beyond your comprehension you can't fathom riding in a cage or three wheels. Give it a few years when you get older and you just might.

I recall a Valkyre trike I saw. Jazzed up a bit it would absolutely roll the back tires into full smoke. Cool wheelies too.
Yeah that one was hip. I'd rock one of those no problem.

When I get the point that I can no longer ride a bike, I'm going with this!

Until then no matter how much it hurts I'm sticking with my bumble!

The only 3 wheeler I'd consider in the Slingshot. Part Batmobile. 2.4L engine. Low CG. And a seat that is more like a car seat.

For some reason, the Slingshot just doesn't do it for me.

But, I think the Morgan is super-cool.

This is what you ride when you have big balls. But I don’t miss mine. I have something with power and sits up more for comfort. Yamaha FZ6.

NC is now one of the states you don't have to wear a helmet driving one.
Don't know if you still need an mc license. Got that anyway.

No MC lic, but helmet still required in NC.
Most LE just don't know.
I just called the dealer, and that's what they told me.
