Vietnam War Hero Sent To Prison.....

A poor deflection

No deflection the guy had stabbed his ex wife 20 years prior in a different state and served 10 years In prison. He was a violent criminal and apparently still liked violence or the threat of it. Also I believe it was more than once personor King that passes those laws and have kept them in place.

So why if you hate the "king" do you make your living off of the people's back? Seriously dude biggest hypocrite on the board.

Did he complete his time in full? If yes then restore his rights in full.

Hypocrite? You espouse freedom, yet willing strip it from others.

I’m with ya man, that’s how it maybe should be, but that ain’t be the way it be. So til we make it back to be the way it should be, we gotta deal with the way it be. And that be sad. But it be what it be.

Cocaine and marijuana charges and innapropate pics of his young daughter. Pacer , enter his name. Each gun was a charge, having cocaine.

@Diablos i have mad respect for what you do and glad you do it. So "Kings man" or not your really ok with me. Sometimes we just don't see eye to eye.

But for giggles what is npc and why is that an insult?

Do I think the law is wrong? Yes.
Do I think the sentence is too stiff? Yes.

But, it is the existing law. The guy knew the risk and the potential consequences, just as many here do. He took his chances and accepted these risks, knowingly. Just as many here entertain certain risk, boating accidents or not. It's not like he was blindsided. And it sounds like he fully acknowledged this in his plea.

Yeah...I would never say that about you.

When you are around...

Least your honest lol. Just please say it to my face lol

Imma big boy with thick skin, plus I know I’m not the poster child of a veteran

Well if I on the same path NPC is a a gaming term.

It means Not Player Controlled. It’s an in game character that is ran by the game

But I’m probably off base with this one in terms of an insult

OMG, he broke a laaawwww. Someone call a veterinarian!

One, the veteran / “war hero” thing is irrelevant.
Two, this is more made up BS, crime against the crown crap.

This is the sort of crap that should have people in mass, rising up and breaking a lot more precious laws. It’s amazing that some actually have to wonder why respect for the system, the concept of law, and willingness to be ruled by the knuckle draggers in office are all waning.

Using the words "Vet" and "hero" whether he was or not, should not and probably did not figure in to the equation for the sentence he received. Something else swung the sentence time in the heavy direction.
His attorney probably tried to play the hero vet card but it won't work. Hell, Lee Harvey Oswald was a Vet too. And a lot of vets play the "hero" card when it might help them somehow , even the guys with the gear in the rear were heroes if you ask them under certain conditions.

So he had a firearm with a scrubbed serial #, and it was a fully automatic firearm that required a tax stamp. He had it for 20 years which means he acquired it after the Gun Control Act in '68, I think it was 68. So he knew. SO by law he was guilty of those two crimes, but it still doesn't add up to 7 years in the pen.
What am I missing here?

He took a plea deal to get 7 years which means he avoided a much longer sentence with the deal. Not to mention he was charged with other crimes as well. I'd imagine he had other stains on his record leading up to an active sentence as well.

The amount of information we are not getting on this is staggering.

This is not the poster boy you're looking for.

First, I believe the NFA of '34 and the GCA of '68 should be repealed. Free men and women should be able to own whatever weaponry they desire and can afford. Punishment for crimes, no matter what they are committed with should be just and as swift as due process will allow.

With that said, and the caveat that I can find little reference to this case other than copies of the same article referenced by the OP, I am basing my next statement on the research of others who have stated that there are other charges and circumstances to be considered.

How different our discourse would be on this matter had the article been entitled "Man accused by daughter of incest after mothers death". Sideline- "Also found to have drugs and illegal machine gun".

In other words, the media is very good at twisting, spinning, painting, fudging, etc. Once again, whether it is their intention or not, they have driven another wedge into the predominately conservative ranks of the gun owners. They played the veteran card, the hero card, the gun owner card and included an interview with a good friend who feels like it's a travesty.

Friends, my point is simple. DON'T BE PLAYED BY THE LEFT!

If you knew my ex wife you'd be fine with me stabbing her!:p

I worked once with a fellow who did 12 years for killing his wife. He'd say 'I didn't mean to do it, I was shooting at my mother-in-law and missed'

Lol must be an insult to someone somewhere I guess.

@Diablos

It's an insult to anyone to be called an NPC, or Non-playable character. They are pre-programmed characters in games that hold no ability to think, act or do anything other than what they're told to by the programmers. They lack all individual characterstics aside from the feelings they're told to illicit. They're non-human and completely void of rational thought or actions, they know only what they're told.

Let Bill Whittle explain further:

So your saying it's a personal attack of character and should be reported? Well then in that case I still don't care, because I'm not given to such provocation. Only people who can't think would take that as an actual insult because it may have some meaning of truth they cannot handle.

It's the latest insult therefore proving how cool the insulter is.

I'm only stating what the insult is, and you're right, only people that can't think would be offended, which is why it's perfect for the SJW progs. These are the same people that were triggered by a cartoon frog.

The fact he is a vet is totally irrelevant. He broke laws.

Some jails have even created 'vets only' cell blocks.

um yeah...this guy was a grade A tool:

https://www.justice.gov/usao-edtx/pr/plano-man-sentenced-7-years-firearms-violation

He admitted to stealing the gun...

But the king had to have something to do with it?

Additional information presented at sentencing revealed Pick’s daughter reported to investigators that Pick had sexually abused her from the time she was 4-years-old until the age of 17, taking nude photographs of her to, as he put it, “chart her growth” and sexually assaulting her.

Finally, the sentencing court received evidence that Pick threatened the Federal Magistrate Judge who detained him indicating he would fly his plane with explosives to kill the Judge and ATF agents who investigated his case. Pick also stated that he would “have taught the Las Vegas shooter a thing or two,” referring to the Oct. 1, 2017 mass shooting.

“Obviously, there was a lot more to the sentence that was received – a sentence that Mr. Pick and his lawyer agreed to – than a single gun with a missing serial number,” said U.S. Attorney Joseph D. Brown. “Although Mr. Pick was a decorated veteran, he would use that status routinely to try to excuse his repeated criminal behavior. This was also not a mental health issue. It became a public safety issue.”
