Hiding stuff

Cool ideas, ive found some kitchen floor cabinets have space under them when drawers are pulled out.

Hiding things in a jar full of beans is a neat idea, and you could put it together quick at little cost. I can't imagine anyone stealing a jar of beans.

Until some Yahoo puts a video on the internet about it and now not only is your house burgled but there's beans and anything else in a jar everywhere.

I can't find the stuff I put away in plain sight. God forbid I move something from it's usual place. My Mom had Alzheimer's and went through a phase of hiding jewelry and cash. I opened a bible sermon on cassette one time and about a grand was folded up in the little tape case, my Dad had no idea. He just recently (she has been dead about 2 years) found a diamond ring in a basket of cleaning pads under the sink. I have told him, before anything leaves the house or goes to goodwill, fine tooth comb it. She loved the little spaces under drawers! So who ever buys the house, may get lucky

I'm so used to putting stuff where it shouldn't be...

That I often can't find stuff that's exactly where it should be...

Cause I know not to look there.

every thug burglar is probably seeing this also. :(

Doubt the common thief is going to spend much time checking all the outlets, mayo jars, and thermometers etc
I get what youre saying, but theres just too much to check and, honestly, I doubt very many actually do this sort of stuff.

I have some great places for my stuff. I keep my handguns behind the nightstand and above the microwave. For emergencies, I keep a couple thousand dollars behind the toilet--nobody will ever look there! Longer guns, like my Daniel Defense and the expensive collectible stuff goes under the mattress in the guest room. My wife found a great place to hide the heirloom silverware just inside the attic door. I've told her she needs to hide all that jewelry but she says she needs it on the dresser where she can get to it easily.

We still have a little more work to do, though. I want to put some lights outside. It's so dark when we come home, and the house is so far from the road. I sure wish those home alarm systems didn't cost so much or I would get one. We are on a vacation this week, we needed to get away because we were heartsick when our only dog died. But as soon as I get back I'm going to fix that broken deadbolt, and then nobody is going to get into 104 East Maple Street!

Great ideas,, I have a free holster to give you. Send me your physical address and let me know times the house is empty. Don't won't the mailman to miss ya:D

well played sir...

three things:
1. yes, Remshooter. my MIL died last year and we went through her mail, magazines (paper kind), and clothes pockets. hope we found most of it.
2. we don't really "hide" our house keys. we hang them inside our wind chimes. since they are silver-colored, they blend in well.
3. a plastic bag inside of our big dogfood bag contains a few unmentionables.

When my great grandmother died every thing had to begone through. Especially books. There was thousands of dollars in the books alone. Most of the bills were from the 20’s, 30’s, and 40’s. Ah I wish those “silver certificates” were still exchangeable.

Ouch.
But how dang good was the fake can that no one could tell as they were going through it?
I mean, did it have an expiration date posted on it?
What about the weight of it? 12oz (plus can) seems like a lot compared to a handfull of bills. Youre only talking about 30-40 bills probably? I dont think it'd weigh that much.

Bummer though.

Been thinking of where to hide a spare key to the house recently.
Neat idea on the wind chime, to the poster above

You know someone figured it out and pocketed it...

I got to play the same game a few months ago. I’m glad I’m not the only one.
Well. I got a Glock 19 playing hide-n-go-seek at my house. Damn thing is winning.

You can buy things that look like regular household items to hide small stuff in. Hairbrushes, fake cleaner like Ajax.

I had an airweight S&W that played hide and seek in the breast pocket of a blazer once for over a year. A gray one that I rarely wore until I needed it again and "discovered" the little devil...

Wow. Such irresponsibility.

I have a glock 43 I decided I don't like too much and stuck it in an ammo box after cleaning it. Apparently not the 9mm box so I have to pull them all out and dig some time. I'm starting to think it went on a boat ride.

Let me say I am the youngest person who lives in my house. My wife is several years older than me.

If you have a wife, stuff will transport itself to different locations with out you knowing.

Anyhow it was found under a stack of crap on a dresser in the bedroom in the holster it was in.

I found my speed strip of 38 carry ammo in the makeup basket...along with two knives. I learned not to leave stuff on the bathroom counter top or it ends up in there.
