Alright, I’ve been looking at picking up some kind of belt to attach mags, ifak, dump pouch, and anything else you might want. I’ve got a d3cr (I think) chest rig but I don’t use it very much because it isn’t comfortable and I feel like belt mounted pouches would be faster and easier. Maybe I just want to try something a little different.

Is it a good idea to just get something that has the belt and pouches already together or pick and choose this and that? Not really sure about holster options either but figured my budget was around $350/400. Maybe a little more if it was something I couldn’t live without. I would like to have something low profile that would conceal under a coat but that’s just a thought. I haven’t had any experience so may be that’s a bad idea.

Is there anywhere in N.C. that has stuff like this to try on or look at before buying? Any name brand to look for or stay away from? Anyway, any and all help is much appreciated.

HSGI. They make quality stuff and you can get their magazine tacos in several configurations

This would fit your needs pretty well it sounds like. Add a holster and you would prob still come out under your budget. I also bet they will have a sale coming up too, and I’ll send the code your way if I see it. Local NC company too

OPTactical in Raleigh has a lot of this stuff if you make it this way much. They also have a website

I have some cheaper Condor stuff that works good for me, and I shoot some tactical matches with it. Its actually not built too badly for the price. If you had to spend that much on it, I agree with HGSI. They have some squared away gear. I just couldn't justify spending that much on it compared to the amt. of matches/use I shoot. Usually you can find it at the gunshows too. So you can look at it before you buy it. I have a holster, SOG tool (fix little jams, etc) , a double rifle/pistol mag shingle (triple is too heavy and you will never need that much ammo) , dump pouch that I use very infrequently, even in matches. If you keep an eye out on CL, and the BST, you can find some used for sale.

It is nice to be able to grab 40 rds of .223, 50 rds of .40 and my pistol in one grab if I ever needed it.

I'd definitely go for a modular belt rig instead of a premade. Your needs change over time & it's nice to be able to change it up as needed.

HSGI makes a killer belt. It's called the Suregrip. They make a Low profile version of it too. As far as mag pouches, I like the ITW Nexus Fast Mags, Esstac KYWI & HSGI Tacos. Tactical Tailor makes a good dump pouch that's HUGE & it pretty cheap too.

I like using Safariland holsters with their QLS system on a Mid ride UBL. Works great on a battle belt & when wearing body armor. Here's a pic.

I second the QLS option or even G-Code. I have g code and works fine.

My EDC belt is a Blue Alpha Gear hybrid and I love it so I just got their battle belt, the double belt. So far I love it.

Nice. I just picked up a Blue Alpha Hybrid & I'm lovin' mine too. I saw the double belt & wondered how it was. Looks pretty badass. Nice rig!

Yeah, I like how the under belt itself is super nice. I put that on and use it for my CW on way to range then put outer belt on at range.

G code makes a padded inner you can put on the outer belt so it can hang “at ready” and quickly go on over anything. I wish the sure grip option from HSGI worked but Velcro is opposite.
